Well done jordanc93 I would rather buy them at half price frozen and bake them at home as I usually buy them when they are reduced and freeze them anyway. Unfortunately there do not appear to be any Heron stores near enough for me to go and buy them.
Most bakery items are frozen then cooked off in stores
23p for two couple of hours before store closing.
XSELL? Ummmmm, appatising brandname or what!
Saw one solitary packet yesterday, the rest was sausage rolls, which going by this, could have been Morrisons too x

Probably means 'cross sell'
The xsell chicken fillets and massive bag of mini roasties are nice, not found the pie's yet
I thought this was a hard drive when I saw the preview photo looks like a 3.5” red
You honestly thought the one person working on the pie counter made hundreds of pies and pasties every day, from scratch, by hand?
Thanks OP Bloomin lovely pies I usually get them on reducers in moprrisons, just wish there was Heron Food shops in Scotland

No of course not however would it kill supermarkets to be more transparent about how they actually make things. Their are also a lot of ingredients in the pies more than they actually are willing to put on the packets they sell the pies in.

Only stuff sold by main supermarkets anyway, rather buy at herons prices.

Should've gone to Specsavers.
I keep seeing this picture and every time think it's a WD RED

Took the words right out of my mouth.
I came to post the same thing! Gonna try avoiding putting own drive in the oven now
For those without a herons food store.. b&m stores with fresh and frozen sections are herons stocked includingthis brand as they went into partnership. The bags of frozen chargrilled chicken breast for £2 are amazing and very big.....

Some bnm stores sell frozen as they own heron so check your local to see if they do frozen
@ lynsaydyson & marchillary
Thanks for that, I did see last night that B & M had taken Heron over so I was going to have a look and see if they had any of those pies in as there is a B & M closer to me than the nearest Heron store is. I have never noticed any freezers in it though. but I have not been in that often.

Seen sausages rolls in my local today and I'm pretty sure they are morrisons sausage rolls the oven fresh ones as use by date is same as the chunky steak pies and ingredients are similar. Could be wrong but think they are.

They sell end of line stuff and things that don't look 100%, BUT the quality of many items is very high indeed

Most of the stuff I've bought most definitely isn't Birds Eye

That then would be illegal

A lot of it is, Heron is a local company and I’ve had the misfortune of talking to some employees.

It’s not all they have to state on cooked food such as the pies from oven counter is any allergies. If you want to know ingredients you have to ask. Same with Lidl bakery no ingredients displayed for items they sell at all, you have to ask the staff who get the book out with ingredients list but have no sign displayed telling you that you can actually ask to see ingredients.

Xsell is a very mixed range you don’t know what your getting from one week to the next. For example I’ve had the proper Chicago town takeaway pizzas repackaged under xsell for £1, as well as some Iceland products such as fish, chip and mushy pea bites. Quality varies all the time some of it might well be very low end smart price chicken nuggets all the way up to better quality birds eyes chicken dippers. I usually avoid the xsell stuff that states in the ingredients that the chicken has been minced. Decent chicken products in xsell range will usually say chicken breast where as crap stuff usually says minced or reformed.
