Update 1
Looks like Morrison's have upped production on these boxes from 10,000 to 100,000 units whilst we're all self isolating. I've just had a check and I'm seeing availability for the whole of next week on a couple of boxes. Worth a check to see if you can grab on
Please shop responsibly. As Coronavirus uncertainty develops, we are seeing a lot of community demand for basic household items. Please do consider others - we all need to work together to ensure everyone gets what they need. So please don’t stockpile, and perhaps offer to help older neighbours, family or friends by sourcing items for them.

Not sure if a deal per se, but Morrisons are now offering 'Essentials' food boxes for £35. We were able to book a delivery in for this Saturday.

Meat and Veggie options available.

As someone with asthma, this was great to know we don't have to venture out to get essentials.

Good idea as long as it’s not £25 worth of stuff
So you order it, pay £5 delivery and you don’t even know what’ll be in it? Surely you’d be better off to pick £35 worth of food you actually want, that way even if they don’t have it you’d hope the substitutions would be at least similar, order this and you could get soup etc. you don’t like/want
Our local pub is doing similar for the same price with free delivery locally. Shows how over priced the supermarkets can be. 40171276-H9Ebz.jpg

Great idea. No branded goods though. Surely if you get a bit more than what’s pictured, it only amounts to about £15 worth of produce?

I think this guarantees you will at least get essentials. I'm going to try one box, to see if it is worth it and will go from there

Plus good luck getting a normal delivery this side of 2020

My god you were lucky to have a slot online shopping. I can book anything with any these shops for at least a month. You can't even book a slot then!
No delivery dates available for my area.

Maybe they are planning a big driver recruitment push (come on you mini cab drivers - regular work steady wage )

It's delivered by DPD, I presume from Central warehouses not local stores.

So different delivery slots.

It’s the “items based on our current availability of products“ that would worry me!

Getting a delivery slot is getting a bit daft, in my area you just need to check each morning, had Tesco deliver today, have them booked for next week and have Asda booked the week after. Not ideal but seems the only way at the moment.
No delivery dates available for my area either. Nore for normal grocery deliveries. In Fact no supermarkets here have any slots for the next 3 weeks. Patients is a virtue i guess lol
I expect these to be delivered to the vulnerable in a few days time.
No deliveries near me for ages but a really good idea.
I feel it's a good idea but a bit of a strange one in that you don't know what you're going to get....
More overpriced tat from morrissons , whom by the way were selling 20% fat mince in our MK store at £7.50 for 750g .
Rip off company who are trying to up there profits by charging extortionate amounts for the very basics .
I said from last Thursday when this happened , I would never put another penny in their tills !

To be fair it is not really the time to pick & chose. These will be primarily be for those isolating for 12 weeks & cannot go out at all.

Any idea what time do they release the slots?
A weeks worth of food for 2 adults for £35!?
Overpriced and definitely not worth £35. No thanks

No sorry, I’ve just checked first thing in the morning and booked ahead.
Check back another time, no delivery slots. 😬

You don't even know what's in it!
£5 delivery seems excessive given they are making a fortune at the moment...

Yeh I get that and appreciate it. Why haven't they listed the contents though? Is it dependent on what they have at the time?
two people -- for a week?

If £5 is too expensive, why have they sold out of slots?

Good If it means people can get access to food faster. Not good if it just means people waste even more food because their box has stuff they don’t like or not even willing to try.

Because there are large number of people who have been asked to isolate who can't get out to shop.
guess there's more in the box? lol, £35 for £8 of food seems a bit steep...

Yeah, that's not what's in it
It’s £30 plus £5 for delivery. Sold out in my area
No delivery slots for any of the supermarkets in our area for next 3 weeks. It's almost like we're being forced to visit a supermarket with a face mask due to the lack of delivery slots. Maybe the Government could help the supermarkets up their game on that point?

Even those supermarkets with click & collect options have no slots near us
