Easy to gut them - chop off head & tail, slit/ cut down the belly, single cut from ex-head to poop-hole near the ex-tail, taking care not to cut deeply - rip out all the guts & rinse
Morrisons usually prepare (gut, clean, fillet) the fish for you if you ask them at the counter
Something a bit fishy about this deal
Bad deal, fishermen would always gut fish as soon as they are caught, they go "off"very quickly if they don`t,ungutted fish would normally go for fishmeal or bait, think about it,when do you ever see ungutted fish on a fishmongers slab.

Complete rowlocks where mackerel are concerned - they are left with guts intact as they bleed all over the place and go bad faster once gutted

Another method is to cut the flesh around the neck but leave the spine, snap the neck and both the heads and guts will come out together
Can smell them from here. Making me feel a little eel.

You're always carping on about something or other
In Asda you can get it for £1 and it’s not an offer at asda it’s been £1 for a long time

Yeah, wouldn't want to risk any salmonella!
Morrisons is the only supermarket where I'd even consider buying fresh oily fish like mackerel or herrings.
The stuff that's usually on sale in the others isn't usually fit for catfood.
Great price, but ungutted fish? I'm gutted.
