This is with skin on and bones in. I had some last night for dinner - lovely flavour and very few bones. Would buy it more often at this price.

Morrisons only ever sell it with skin on. It's actually sold as boned, it's just that the fishmongers at Mozzas do a particularly poor job of boning!!

There's always loads of bones in Moggys "boneless" fish.

To prove they're real fish!

Had some wild caught salmon in Alaska this year - the difference in taste to the farmed stuff we get from supermarkets here was just incredible. I've been trying to find out where I can get some decent wild salmon in this country, I'll try the Lidl stuff - see what it's like.

Been stocking up all week!!!!

I think Lidl are only selling the wild salmon over the Christmas period. Other than that, be prepared to pay around £50 a kilo :(:(:(

What else would they be? lol i know what you mean. I eat only locally sourced fish at least then i know its not some crap breed of Salmon farmed on the other side of the planet.

By the way, the skins okay to eat depends on your preference. I thought they all came with the skin on unless its sliced? I actually like the skin on salmon, crisp the skin side in a pan till its about a third cooked through turn and finish it in the oven alternatively just grill it.

Farmed fish can vary massively in quality but I thought this salmon was particularly poor, very fatty and poor texture and taste. Perhaps I was unlucky and just got a lazy fish but I won't be trying this again.

My local Morrisons sell Alaskan salmon on the fishmongers counter but they don't have it every week. I think that is my preference but I was not going to miss the farmed stuff at this price.

There are lots of nice pacific salmon varieties, but not all are created equal. In Alaska, it probably wasn't flash frozen before going ashore, so that could be a big improvement

Just to add. The Mrs came home with some of this the other night. It's MASSIVE! Great value, We'll get 3 meals out of it and it was only about £5.50

Tesco do Wild Alaskan salmon

Incorrect actually, morrisons do sell skinned and boned salmon which are at a fixed price a fillet. The salmon on offer doesn't state that it has been boned,it says fillet which means it has been taken off the main backbone. If you do require these fillets to be skinned and boned then they will do that for you.

Lidl do frozen wild salmon fillets year round. Can't remember the price but they're not particularly pricey. They're quite nice.

Good for sashimi?

Tescos are doing a cracking Half salmon boned for £9.99 as a special purchase, my freezer now has a couple tucked up for xmas.
