is that correct? The t&c's link to this page …is that correct? The t&c's link to this page https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/network/amex-offers-terms.html where it says gift cards are excluded. Awesome if its true though

They can't tell what you buy*, regardless of what they say. it's 10% off everything, including gift cards. I've used this offer loads in the past.

*It won't work on fuel, though.

Awesome to see this again
saved to card - thanks!
Heat added!

An alternative may be 10% back with £30+ spend for Visa/MasterCard via Q Park Rewards (paid by bank transfer/gift cards) or Airtime Rewards (pays off mobile bill). Plus an additional bonus for new users via a referral code.

Targeted as always - shows on my gold card only.
On mine... Gift vouchers to buy petrol... ⛽

On both of my golds, was quite surprised as they're both pretty well used in Morrison's.

There is a "trick" to getting the cashback on giftcard purchases. Don't email Amex to tell them that your payment was for giftcards. Easy!
Saved! Thank you.
Amex para sites off the companies who subscribe. Huge charges and in effect discounts for very little reason. I refused when I was in business and I'm surprised that Morrison's are playing their game. They must have negotiated a deal but Amex are predatory, they should beware.

Really?

Try it, get back and confirm.

It works. Done It a few times so far before
Thanks
Not on my Amex, but got the offer over Christmas last year.
Used it on our Platinum card for a £180 shop last week but still awaiting the cashback. The offer has not reappeared on my card so it looks like a one time use offer. It is on my Gold card though.
I actually have this one, after not having the last 4 or so! Thanks
Yes! I was hoping this would return so I could stock up on amazon gift cards. It saved me a fortune last year when it was on at 10%.
old_mikefield21/11/2019 00:21

Scorching. 10% off Amazon gift cards. Woop woop!

They've added a new clause which allows them to claw back cashback on accounts they believe abuse it. Shame as I bought loads of amazon gift cards last year. It'll have to be a small regular amount this time rather than bulk buying
Alas nothing on my card again maybe I use it too much in Morrison's.

Recently?

My understanding is this 'loophole' was closed quite a while back.
Many organisations used to get 4% or 5% discount when buying Morrison's gift cards and could use for buying fuel.

10% obviously would be fantastic.

The last time I had a similar offer at Morrisons was in August and it worked for me, think that was only 3% back though.

i did do the Harvey Nichols offer on a similar thing and the statement credit paid (£30 back from £100 spend).
great stuff on my card xmas shop me thinks
On my Platinum Cashback card. I was refusing to use the 7% offer, happy that my patience paid off. Time to stock up on gift cards.

My only problem is that my local Morrisons has some fraud control measure that limits gift card buying; multiple trips required.

Yep also confirm this works. Haven't had any Morrisons offers on my amex for a while but I stock up on them for fuel when I do.

Same at mine. Although see the above comment about the new clause. It might be easier for them to detect if you're just buying a gift card at a time, maybe worth buying a few bits of shopping with each too?

Had this last week. Great to see its back. Excellent find, just need Jameson to go on offer now...

I wonder how they decide what's abusing it. £650 of John Lewis gift cards on mine last Christmas to buy a new cooker with, in individual £20 or £50 purchases one after another due to my Morrisons having a limit of 1 gift card per purchase due to fraud measures. Suspect something like that'd get flagged now if they're checking it more closely!
Maybe worth buying a few groceries at the same time as the gift cards so the amount debited shows as a random figure rather than a round amount which may arouse suspicion

Same here; the rewards offer changed from 7% to 10% on my gold card.

You just pay separately. No need to visit shop couple of times. My local shop allows to buy only one £50 John Lewis gift card but you can buy another one in separate transaction. No limit on Amazon vouchers.

I add some small stuff to voucher purchase, so amount is not suspiciously round.

BTW, got offer on SPG card, going to check others now.

Same with AA
Alas cannot see the offer on my AMEX
Got it on my Platinum card - its our store of choice and we often spend £100+ on family shops there so its a really good amount of cash back. I had the 5% one previously and i think we ended up with around £40 back.
after the manager abused a member of public and physically assaulted him, morrisons should be snubbed until he is sacked
