3412360.jpgHi Guys.
I hope this could be useful to anybody.
Just been shopping at Morrisons in Preston/Riversway and noticed that my Salmon scanned at £7 per whole tray (should be £19 for that one)
That is nice glitch!!!
I have tried another different one and done same.
I have freezer full of fish now

I hope it is national and I hope will be same on morning

Don't take any notice of people making fun. They have absolutely no idea. I agree with you. Only been buying wild salmon for a long time now.

Well done both......

Most people don't however have the luxury of that choice!
You went in before closing so was it reduced like they do with fresh cooked meals??

I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. It's an occasional treat for me also. However in all fairness it's better not to eat it at all if not wild. It'll make you more harm then good the way it is.

Is it in all branch's?
Thought it's a medical condition when I saw "whole salmon scans".

Wild, well it would scan at about £47 then lol. Wouldnt want to put anyone off but "contaminants in farmed raised salmon are significantly higher in PBDE's which are toxins that bioaccumulate in the body and can cause a myriad of health issues. PBDEs have been associated with hormonal and thyroid disruption, brain damage and cancer"
I think the advice is to eat no more than once a month if at all.

I fish all summer off the South Coast but I have given up eating the fish I catch. The intestines are full of worms and parasites. When I fished in the 70s these infestations were uncommon.

So you won't eat farmed salmon because of treatment (I'm assuming because of that) but you'll eat wild salmon which is an even bigger issue because it is having a massive impact on stocking levels.

As an occasional eater of farmed salmon what you're asserting is a concern. Can you help by pointing out the sources of your information?

That documentary is about salmon farmed in the Barents sea. Most stuff in our shops is farmed in the North sea, which isn't full of Russian industrial waste.

I seriously doubt it will be wild Atlantic salmon, as it’s virtually impossible to get hold of. You’ll be getting sockeye which doesn’t taste as good to me.

Scottish salmon farms are ran very well, don’t believe all the nonsense that gets spouted about salmon farms

This is Norwegian, totally different, do some research on Scottish farms - they are miles ahead
For those who enquired about the safety of farmed salmon may I suggest that there is plenty of information about this topic on the internet. Its something that I have been reading about for years, I dont know how anyone can have missed it.

I am sure that Scottish salmon farms are on the whole well managed but not all..There was the One Show expose youtube.com/wat…TMg and another for good measure .youtube.com/wat…kno

I also watched a program recently which highlighted the fact that the breakdown of highly toxic plastics in sea water is reaching such a concentration that it is already manifesting in fish and will impact us all in due course.

For me as a fisherman I am just as concerned about the level of parasitic infestation I am seeing in the fish I catch. These parasites and worms can be seen in the eyes , intestines and flesh of the fish I catch. I cant recall anything like this in the 70's.

I have virtually given up eating fish and cant see me returning to this once loved food any time soon.

Hello? Anyone one else managed to buy one for £7 or are we going to rant about wild and farmer
Went to two stores in Solihull, none had any glitches whatsoever. Absolutely pointless deal.
