Morrisons KTC tinned chopped tomatoes 400g £0.20

Found 11th Jun 2012
These tins usually sell for around 40p each. Found them at Morrisons Keighley store. It's not a misprice as they were strategically placed by the entrance.
Also whilst there noticed and bought KTC chick peas 20p a tin, Hellman's Mayonaise 750ml squeezy bottle reduced from 3.96 to 1.50.

buy 1 tin before buying in bulk. The most disgusting tomatoes I have ever come across. Ended up binning 12 tins.

These were 3 for £1 last week as i had to buy some for the missus new diet fad:/

But they are not Morrison's as some people might mistakenly believe from the title;)

some people obviously have different standards. These were worse than the 8p asda value cans I tried. The smell of them is disgusting.

Nothing to do with standards, sounds like you had a bad batch. Mine were all fine.
if you can't make it to a morrisons then Asda currently do these for 4 for £1. 25 pence a can
Why are they reduced, are they out of date?
Reduced cos people rather eat curry, kebab, burger, kentucky hot dip daps, than a nice tin of grandma's tom toms.

kentucky hot dip daps

where do I get some?
binning, csiman?

you could've donated them to a food bank of some sort.
I have been using these for years, they are a well known brand and they are as good as some of the supermarkets own brand 'italian', read supposedly superior quality toms. Ideal for sauces, worth stocking up. They are on special because we are nearing the muslim festival of Eid. Morrisons will not be the on;y supermarket to put these on offer, look out for more deals on rice and ethnic foods.

they sell' em at dat chcacken place dahn town. The one with the old geezer that is some high folooting chap in some army. Mr sandman or summmat like dat. Serious man, buy tins of these juicy goodies instead.

Hate tomatoes (except tomato sauce), so voting this cold

Ah fab, I haven't worked out yet how people should vote on this site. But I get it now. I need to run down all the deals and just vote hot for stuff that I like and vote cold to stuff that sounds icky or that I don't like the colour of or summat.

I still do dat with food. It might taste like teh best most delicious food in the world but if it looks icky to me I won't go near it with a barge pole.
Very good brand, i use their tomato puree from cash n carry all the time.

no food banks near me and I wouldnt wish this gunk on anyone

I may well have had a bad batch I suppose but always normally buy napolina so may just be I'm used to better quality. Normally pick up napolina when they are on offer and pay around 30p per can.

Has anyone noticed how tinned tomatoes have rocketed in priced, with the intention of course of discounting them, but to a price still far higher than they used to be, yet tomato purée has remained relatively steady in price? Taking into consideration the common main ingredient of these 2 products, it's difficult to think anything other than the supermarkets are using psychological marketing tactics with tinned tomatoes, but purée doesn't sell in large enough quantities to make the effort.

Council estates. X)
Just came from Morrisons in small heath , chickpeas, black chickpeas, kidney beans and chopped or whole tomatoes were all 20p each but limit was 24 cans in total per customer .
Good price, but these are actually very watery. Good for some dishes tho. Heat added.

Or possibly better hype?
Since Morrisons decided to start selling GM-fed poultry, I'm not buying anything from them.
huge amount at the entrance to morrisons in peckham this morning.

car-owners were walking off with multiple cans!!

i got two cans.

food programme on radio 4 dealt with tomatoes on sunday - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jqb8w

but morrisons-eaters have missed this year's british tomato week - britishtomatoes.co.uk/tom…tml

I guess that makes you a council estate lad then Phillyboy?
After just visiting Morrisons, was just going to post this deal for the chickpeas, but then saw this thread here already. Brown chickpeas @ 20p a tin - well worth it!
they can't have been enforcing that 24-limit in peckham, minchy - i saw people walking out with many more than 24.

i suspect some of them may have been mom-and-pop corner stores - buy for 20p in morrissons; sell for 40p in shop.

20p profit on each can which can be `off the books`

p.s. morrisons in peckham is selling fresh cherry tomatoes HALF-PRICE - 250g - 41p reduced from 82p.

good value IMO.

Here you go there are few more items in the offer

on till the 24th
