Don't know why, my diesel does 58mpg and my mates new petrol Astra SRI does 33mpg.
Do the math :whistling:

Passed a petrol station today, 99.9 for petrol and 119.9 for diesel. Needless to say it wasn't the busiest place in town!

Naw it is a deal... will help people with a Morrisons near them. As some independents still charge extortionate rates.

ive just filled up today @ 89.9p :whistling:

I like how everyone talks about petrol as been cheap.
Its not cheap, its damn expensive, some are just a little bit less expensive than others.

i live in cornwall and our Jet petrol station 1/2 a mile away has been this price (88.9p) for over a week and dropped to 87.9p on Friday and that is at a service station. Looks like its not the supermarkets setting the prices all the time.

Shell Blakelands Milton Keynes 88.9
Garage over road 90.09.
needless to say Shell bursting at seams.
Other garage empty.
Shop around.

Bully for you - i'm going here next week :whistling:

And then there is Venezuela. At a Caracas petrol station last week, Gloria Padron, a paediatrician, ticked off items that would cost about the same as the 60 litres of fuel gurgling into her Land Cruiser.

"Let me think. A Magnum ice cream. A cup of coffee. A cheese and ham arepa [sandwich]. Small stuff like that. Can't say I've ever really thought about the price. Why would you?"

When a litre costs 0.7p, and filling the tank of a 4x4 costs 42p, it is a fair question. Petrol is so cheap here - reputedly the cheapest in the world - as to be almost free. Even under the artificially overvalued official exchange rate, petrol is 45 times cheaper than in Britain.

Is it me or what but when Oil was $55 a barrel we was paying around 70p a litre. I know its going down but someone is making a hell of a lot of money by keeping the price high and we all seem to think we are getting a good deal.

70p per litre? I dont think so. Dont forget oil is in $ so the £s massive decline hasn't helped matters.

Why's this been expired?
Is it no longer available at this price?

Please do not expire deals just because you don't like them

Asda have also dropped their price to 88.9p/litre

The next part of this chart would be more interesting on a month by month basis to see how the petrol price followed the oil price up to $150/barrel and then back down again.

going by the lowest point on the graph $55 a barrel, unleaded was 85p a litre. even when you consider a duty rise since then with oil now around the $45-50 mark we should be below 85p a litre. they are ripping us off still.
