So I can take my car down and issue an MOT certicificate myself can I?
I thought it was all done online. Do you have the user ID and password please?

Edit: According to the link, it seems to say their mechanics do the work.

But importantly, the service cost does not include the price of parts
e.g. Oil, filters, etc. Maybe the filters are £100 each?

Read between the lines.
It's an MOT and IF you buy the oil and filters on top of the £39 they will change them.

raza786 you really have no idea what a full service is.

The garage rents out bays, however the Groupon offer includes the services of a spanner monkey who is willing to work for £13 an hour minus the bay rental.
They are either going to be 'finding' work or overcharging on the fluids or most likely both.

The idea of self service is a brilliant one! No wonder the place was packed. However I landed on this via Groupon and by the looks of it, they are getting very poor reviews from groupon voucher users! why, because they turn out to be a RIP OFF!!
The voucher states that it's only valid for labour and not parts. Fair enough. I got a great deal from eurocarparts, 50% off, bought my filters and oil, spending about £48. No where on the voucher or fine print does it state that oh, for the voucher to be valid, you have to buy parts from them and no one mentioned it when i made a reservation. I get there and they are like if you dont buy from us, we wont do the service, so dont waste our time. How much were their parts? well over £150!!
I've contacted groupon so that such info is in the fine print and not to waste people's time and play mind games.

Phone them for a quote they say £80 for parts excluding labour as I had already paid for labour separately when they finish they add VAT to my bill phone back the next day the same guy say same £80 when I ask if VAT was included he said yes include VAT lmao what a rip off also they use oils from a big barrel which you would think for that money you get a fresh bottle and claims they don't use euro car parts and clearly you can see signs of euro car parts products all over.... I was very disappointed I went for cheap but coulda pay £20-£30 more and got the real deal.... Avoid!!

Poor costumer service, unprofessional mechanics, If you want to kill your car and pay LOTS of money for it go there! I don't recommend it at all! In fact they don't even deserve the one star I gave them!

saw the deal as a groupon so thought i would give it a try. when i came back to collect the car the hit me with a £85 bill on fuel and air filter changes which i never asked for, could have done my self or for a lot cheaper.
2 weeks later my car started making funny noises and when contacted i felt like they avoided my calls. When I did got through, they told me it wasn't there fault and the most they could do is a free scan but i would have to pay for the repair (which i avoided.. they were not coming anywhere near my car).
All in all this experience cost me around £320 and i only have a vauxhall astra
Scam artists

I used a groupon voucher, and the service delivered was pathetic. It was not even close to the 3 hour Premium service that they claimed, rather a 30 min job with oil and filter replacement which was charged extra around 100 quid. Car has started making funny noises in a month. Paying anything more than the groupon price would be quite steep considering level of service.

I've read not only between the lines, but also what is actually written on the lines.

Yes the facility does rent out bays for the DIYer, but that is not what this deal is. This deal is for a full service taking 3 hours perfomed by their team and then an MOT performed by them (which will take about another hour).
But it does not include the cost of parts which will therefore be charged extra as you cannot fully service any car without parts e.g. oil, filters, etc.

They have been careful and not mentioned 'full' on the offer or terms.
##Service Includes

Change engine oil (labour only)
Top up of all fluids (labour only)
Change oil filter (labour only)
Change air filter (labour only)
Change fuel filter (if necessary)
Change pollen filter (labour only)
Check all lights
Check washer jets and wiper blades
Check tyre pressure and tread depth
Check exhaust systems
Check and test brake pads and shoes
Check the steering for any play
Check hand brake travel and adjust if necessary
Check seatbelts and adjust if necessary
Check horn
Check all mirrors

That is far from a full service, the last 10 items are part of an MOT.
The first six items are all chargeable on top, hence what I said.

I am happy to arrange anyone with a service of ther car and an MOT for 1p
(does not include price of parts, labour or MOT)

What concerns me is that 450 poor saps have fallen for this and 10 in the last 30 minutes.

It needs to be spammed off the website.
as usual...preying on people with little knowledge
For someone who is probably worse off financially because I have always tried to not cheat anyone. Cons like this really **** me off.
Voting cold and wishing that trading standards shuts this place down.

TBF to Groupon I've bought a couple of In n' Out MOTs for £14 previously and my wife's car passed and any advisories were noted without chasing for further business.
Although I had already checked the car over myself first.

I've used Council in the past and they are great as long as you book well in advance and I would use them again.
Last couple of years has been main dealers as I get the MOT half price and it's less hassle having it serviced at the same time, had no probems there either, they've even put a new bulb in free of charge for me.

Sadly most garage related deals are scams run by conman mechanics I've yet to meet a decent mechanic who's not from Poland. ..
How can they charge 100 quid for oil and filter? I've got a volvo 2.0 D and bought oil for fifteen quid and got a free oil filter on a eurocarparts special offer!!
My local garage do MOT and services together for £45. Parts included. No messing about, excellent job, better than this rubbish. I'm sure most other people on here can claim the same.

That sound like a really good deal, rich_1986. Could I ask for details of that paricular garage you refer to.

I don't consider it a 'deal', as its always at that price. But the business is based in Dagenham and is called Motorized. I have taken my cars there for the last 6 years, for various work as well as my yearly service and MOT. I won't need to go there for the next 2 years due to having a lease vehicle, but cannot fault them.

States £65 on their website and on their Yell listing.
You say 'various work', do they go hunting for work?

No, I have deliberately taken my car to them to have brake systems replaced, as well as other issues with my car that I myself have noticed and asked to be sorted. To give an idea on their honesty, I have taken a BMW 320d with a very noisy DMF to them, not knowing myself if it was on its way out, and they said that it was fine after a free inspection. I know the job will cost around £1200 to have done with genuine parts, so they could have easily fleeced me for it. And even at £65 its better than the OP's deal.
