mot for £22.42 formula one autocentres, with discount code with free spring safety check

16
Found 5th Apr 2016
i have just booked mot from formula one autocentres, it was on discount for £27.42, but i found disocunt code online and worked further -£5.00 (COMPA2015) so total of £22.42, including free spring safety check, whatever that means.
i see alotof "scam" comments, i will update you on how it goes ,next week.
09/04/16... i had no extras, they even told me that my rear tyres may need changing after handing me the mot pass paper. but when i had a chat about these negative feedback's, they also agreed that some branches do force customers to pay for not unnecessary but fairly old parts.

On the face of it, an excellent price, but don't you worry that they make sure they make a profit from it by finding stuff to do on your car?

Here you go - link to their "MOT Tester/Technician" career description: careers.f1autocentres.co.uk/car…d=2, note:

"To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in … "To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures"

I always go to a local garage, they charge me £35 for an mot, sometimes it needs nothing, sometimes the usual stuff.

Local council MOT stations are usually the best.
They dont repair cars atall they are just testing stations, so there is no profit in failing it uneccessarily.
Its where your local Private Hire drivers have to get their tests done.

Usually lots of ££££££s X)
Avoid paying for a discount MOT, like mentioned they will defiantly find a fake problem with your car. After all if it passes then they will be doing your MOT at a loss. No company will work at a loss.

Problem is there are none local to me, and I live in London!
I would stay away from their rugby branch... they will definitely fake things, as they tried with me. Took me car in for tracking and tried to fool me saying suspension tie rods and ball joints needed changing as a matter of urgency, which, because I know my car well, was a load of bullsh**.
Car was due for MOT the following day elsewhere and passed with no advisories...come across all friendly but unless you know a bit about cars avoid...
The MOT is a loss leader for them. They make all their money from the remedial work that they say needs doing which may not need doing at all. Sometimes there are reports of parts not even being changed but being charged for(!)
Retest £14.75 if you they don`t fix the car... No thanks
Avoid Avoid Avoid

My very bad experience with them seems to be echoed by everyone above. I will never use them again and would advise everyone to go somewhere else............anywhere else.
I've been using this deal for years.

For petrolheads who look after their car and know it inside out and upside down it's ideal.
I just used it today booked at 4pm car was done by 5pm. Passed no issues or advisories raised nor tried to sell me anything. While I was waiting i overheard the chap answering the phone was saying they wont be beaten on price and made some good discounts to the customers that were picking their cars up.

Yes, but there's a limit to how far I am willing to go. It is made to seem that as they are council each council will have one, far from it.
sounds like a scam at its best #upsell
All mot stations are the same, if their not busy they try to find something wrong, when booking now I always tell them if anything needs repair I'll do it myself, they don't want to waste their time on a free retest so if it does fail you know it needs repair.
