How about this one
Be careful about their secret terms and conditions with car seats.

We just got stung.
I bought this car seat- gave it back the next day- really flimsy

It's cheap compared to other places but it's not rear facing.

It's also almost impossible to get the Madrid to fit securely in any car, and when rear facing its too upright for a newborn. I'd be buying a Joie Tilt for £17 more that would allow rear facing to 18kgs if desired (but could also be used forward facing from 9kgs for all those who think rear facing past 9 months old is just a gimmick!) and would most like fit correctly in your car.

It looks like it will be sturdy and well padded till you actually have it and you then see how horrible it is, I've tried the joie with the isofix base and wasn't sold on that either- still searching for that elusive car seat that will suit us securely and easy to use
I have the older front facing only version that I bought Xmas 15. It is mainly used in my dad's car and when we go away on holiday. Front the pics it just looks like they've simply rotated it to sit rear-facing but I don't think it would be suitable for new-borns (a carrier is far better) but is more than good enough for 12months plus esp as a spare or for a second car. Attaching using a seat belt is a bit fiddly but that's obvious compared to isofix.

Not sure I'd recommend it if it's your primary seat, I guess it depends on budget.
i got this for £40 about 2 months ago. great car seat but bulky
I have this in my car, we've had it since Jan 16. Used both rear facing and now forward facing and served us well.

Pretty easy to get in and out of the car when you need to, but also as mentioned it's pretty bulky!

We got the Black/Cream version for £40 all that time ago as well.
Not the best idea to put a newborn into this type of seat, and even worse idea to put a 9kg baby forward facing, horrible.

This is group 1 as indicated in the title. Not sure why it still says from birth in their description. it was tended for 9m-4yrs

Just confirmed with the customer service that this is the 2017 new model So it may be different/better to those who have had it in the past

If the car seat breaks for whatever reason, you’ve essentially go zero consumer rights.

We bought a Cybex system there and the slide thing (where you can make it go more shallow) broke. I.e. it just sloshed back and forth – so totally not safe for baby.

Took it back to store and they said it has to be sent off for testing to see if its manufacturer fault or not… could take up to 28 days for a result.

We obviously asked about consumer rights and that the seat has broken – and that we’d like a full refund (or even credit, as we’d still need a car seat) but they told us it wasn’t their policy to refund or replace/offer exhcnage. It *HAS* to go through that process. They even rang customer services there and then and we spoke to them. You can throw whatever consumer law you know at them it was a stone cold no.

So we allowed it to be sent off and paid another £180 for a Mothercare own brand seat to get us from A to B.

Literally only remembered we’d sent the old one off on Saturday (its been about 6 weeks). Went in to store with our receipt, they made some calls, confirmed it was manufacturer fault and offered us an exchange.

We showed them the receipt for the cheap and cheery one we’d bought and their response was still “Credit note or nothing”.

So took the credit note and sold it at my partners mums and tots group for 20% off face value.

Unbelievable.

For anyone whos bought one, check the pack of stuff they give you. I think the blurb was on the purple sheet (which they craftily fold and staple into a little wallet for you – which makes you put it in a draw and forget about). But we looked on the link and yes, it does basically say (not in so many words) that any rights you may have are superseded by their policy of “we’ll do whatever we want”.

Never shopping their again. Not for anything.

I mentioned on another thread that they’d once spoke to me like dog muck – and even asked us to leave the store when we questioned another policy of theres – and I think the first reply on here was that I was a chav or something or had “kicked off and caused a scene”. But as you can see from the above, they have policies and procedures to get around everything.

I can confirm I am not a chav. Nor do I cause scenes in shops.
We've had this for over 2 years and really like it! Bought for £40 and our 9 month old loved it. Reclines really nicely too. I'm sure there are better car seats out there, but the low price meant a we were able to buy for the grandparents cars too which is so practical! Probably not suitable for a newborn thou and our 3 year old has nearly outgrown it.
