No you do not need an isofix base as I have a similar one to this for my son, the seatbelt is secured on the blu clip on the back of the seat

Good price OP heated

Allow me to copy and paste from the item description:

"The maine car seat can be installed in your vehicle using the vehicle's seat belt but for extra peace of mind it can be installed with the maine ISOFIX base (sold separately) which remains in the car and allows you to simply click the seat on and off the base to ensure it is correctly positioned every journey."
Bargain! Ordered one. Thanks OP!
Can I use this car seat with oyster pushchair
Thank you all for the answers

Only joking. Don't think they follow the latest Isize backwards facing spec do they? I know it's not law yet but will be soon.

As long as they are fitted correctly, then it will be perfectly safe. You don't need to spend £100s on car seats

Have you seen the crash test videos of forward Vs backward facing seats? There's a big difference. The Isofix bases also make a difference.

It's not just backwards facing, it's a whole spec standard madeformums.com/rev…tml

What has that got to do with anything? This is a rear facing seat which if fitted correctly (with or without IsoFix) will keep the baby safe
This car seat looks similar to the Cybex model. Presumably out of the same factory

Nice deal but the Mothercare website is a total mess (at least on iPhone).

I had a look on the Mothercare website and saw one that was to 9mths (+weight criteria) rear facing then after that forward facing. This is presumably one that will be phased out - confirms to current regs but presumably will be non compliant in the near future.

An interesting ethical dilemma for the retailers.

I was told (by a mothercare sales person) that any car seat you buy at the moment will still comply to the law even after the new regs are implemented. If this is true or not, who knows.

the government is encouraging people to rear face their children until the age of 4 but it won't be law.
