Great price, tempted but I'll hang on for v2.0

Every time you can't be bothered to take your phone out give yourself a pound. After 137 times, you won't want the watch

Ah the flat type watch face.....

No longer the best or most desirable android watch....

* 270

Crashed in price, definitely a good price, however an almost pointless device for many people. Of course somehow Apple will make smart watches desirable with even less features.

Good price but after watching reviews id rather have the lg watch r, around £160 on Amazon FR

it's dropped even further to £129.95 now, you may want to update your title :-)

Wait for it to go under 50 quid when the apple watch comes out

I always liked these, but they don't work with iPhones and I don't use android oO

I've got the LG g watch r. Out of the box the things you can do isn't amazing... But couple it with tasker and autowear and it becomes an amazing piece of kit! On way home from work I just say to my watch "turn heating on". Then it's nice and toasty by the time a get home. Then when I arrive home I can say "watch next episode of person of interest" and my TV will turn on, surround sound turn on, play the next unmatched episode of said TV series and dim the lights in the side of the lounge where the TV is located. At this price it's a fantastic piece of kit! I don't get people on hukd sometimes. People will pay thousands on a regular watch.... Which no matter what brand name is stamped on the front.... Just tells the time. Then something like this arrives where you can change the watch face to anything you want or design your own watch face, do all these other things with it technology wise, change the strap to anything you want like a leather or metal strap.... And people vote it cold lol.

God damn it.. Bought this second-hand for £165, should really stay away from hotukdeals after purchasing something lol

Great watch though, very useful for someone that cycles like me which is my main reason to purchase it.
It does however not seem to last nearly as long as when I first got it and it barely gets me a day of use now

I'll wait for the Huawei watch and prices for upcoming android wear before making a decision.... Also still waiting to see what upcoming moto 360 version 2 looks like and also pricing before deciding to take plunge....

Moto 360 is still beautiful despite flat tire effect...

That's cos it isn't stylish. I'm not against android watches, it just doesn't compare to actual wrist jewelry

No more so than looking at your speedo in a car.

I like the idea of a smartwatch but the idea of updating this AND a phone every year or two is ridiculous

This sounds great about the heating and TV, what home automation do you use?

Radio 4 Today did a small piece last week on smart watches. They had a Swiss watchmaker on, and he said he can pass one of his watches onto his grandchildren and it will work and be an item of luxury in 25 years. Do you use tech from 25 years ago?

That being said I am looking at LG's next watch as being a purchase,

No it does not, I can now see any notification and directions at the glance of an eye rather than having to take my phone out of my pocket, it does not make me less of an aware driver than a GPS system in a car would.

I wish it worked with the iPhone, I wanted to get an Android but the Nexus 6 was a let down and nothing else appeals.

I have the HTC one M8 myself, I switched from my iPhone 5s and I am glad I made the change.
I would not consider ever moving back to iOS after having experienced the combination of android wear/android and the design of the m8, you could also wait for the m9 to come out soon which improves upon the camera as well.

Yeah I had the M7 but I found the phone to be too tall, the Nexus 6 was just way too huge and that is the story of every **** flagship Android. The Xperia Z3c is a nice size but that hardware is ancient now, I'm hoping for a z4c and then I'll make the switch.

It is hard coming off the iPhone though because it is the right size for me (the 5s that is) and Apple's camera software is the best. Every Android phone I have to take a few pictures to get a good one, with the iPhone it always takes a good photo without fail.

I would just get the Apple Watch instead but I'm not paying £600 quid for a Stainless Steel watch with a leather band, even the cheap sport one is £340..... madness.

Vera as a hub with rfxcomm interface to work with lightwave devices.
There is an app called autovera which is a plug in for tasker which is great.

And regarding it becoming outdated tech and whether I use technology from 25 years ago yes it will "date" but even if you were to buy a new one every 2 years it will still only cost in the region of 1700 over a 25 year period.... And plenty of people out there pay a hell of a lot more than that for 1 regular watch.

Also regarding the it's not stylish comment... Most very expensive watches that I see some of my watch enthusiast friends wear (I'm talking over £10k a piece here) are definitely not what I'd call stylish... But more bragging rights because of the brand stamped on the watch face.

If style is that much of an issue for you the wearing this throughout your working day etc when you would use it most then use a regular watch for when the style you want to perceive to others is important?

Just saying that a conventional watch with the stamp rolex or cartier would be classed a good deal if it were say 250 quid off retail price..... Still a very hefty price tag though.... And things like this which are technically a lot more advance just get voted cold unfairly.

These watches coupled with a nice strap are definitely a nice looking watch! In my opinion they are better looking than the LG, but the LG wins out spec wise.

dont bother to put any unofficial moto metal band onto the watch.
as I found out, it will crack. and I have 4 cracks coming from each corner of the back cover oO

I'm sure it would be helpful to many if you could summarise what heating automation you use and how you automate the TV system, as there's a myriad of systems and methods out there.

Automate the TV and heating system by using the app autoinput. Have it so it will open the relevant apps and perform actions automatically without user input. So for example the heating system command would open (in this case) the hive application and adjust the temperature to a different preset. TV command would open app for surround sound receiver (onkyo in my case) and turn power on and set input to my Htpc. Open the plex app or yatse depending on what you use and then play next unwatched episode of series requested. (plex and xbmc/kodi keep track of what you have watched and what your next unwatched episode is)

Also could be done through an IR transmitter such as Sq blaster etc for TVs that don't support controls through an app or WiFi.

Worth a punt at this price.

a) Mentioning Rolex and Cartier watches in the same breath shows that you know nothing about watchmaking or the quality of mid- to high-end watches. That's like comparing an Aston Martin to a Hyundai with a Mercedes star glued on.
b) It would be an interesting debate whether a high-end watch or some piece of mass-produced electronics is "a lot more advance[d]" than the other, but it would just feed the trolls.
c) Agreed, for most wearers of luxury watches it's all about their ego. Same with cars. Clothes. Shoes. Phones. And, wait for it, smartwatches.
