seeeeeeen!!
nice find
Are these any good when running in the rain??
The reason I ask is I had the Sony smartwatch 2 with same gps with running app etc, did a parkrun when it was raining and because it was a tough screen it went haywire when navigating through controls.

No, this device isn't waterproof. FYI the SW3 is. When running in the rain, double press the side button and it turns the display off (used to he called theatre mode).

My Sony Smartwatch 3 has been on for 2 days now, I'm down to 45%, could just about do 4 days but get 3 easily.
Sony smart watch 3 at Very £89 and hopefully will get Android Wear 2 but not confirmed, got 1 with voucher paid £59 few weeks ago and loving it.

Got Moto360 and just start using it with iPhone. Is this 2gen any better ?
Dont really see point of this over the SW3 as the HRM on the Moto sport isn't very accurate
Been this price for months, cold
Don't think the heart rate monitor on any wrist based device is worth having. Maybe it's me I just don't want my watch tight or to shave my wrist as heard that helps. Brown hair plus moles maybe that's effecting it but I'm spin classes find I get wildly different results.

Mind you as a fan of chest straps simply haven't tried this model. But my advice would be not to count on that feature

Is that meant to say £189 as i can't find anything that cheap at Very?
I have the mio fuse which is quite reliable as a wrist HRM. I wouldn't wear it for everyday use as its not that great for activity tracking or as a smartwatch

I'm highly inclined to agree with you! I like to train in diff zones ( fat burn, anaero etc ) so I have been using chest straps for several years motorola , dualrate Viiiiva , dualrate coospo H6, garmin etc ) and found them all to be consistent and accurate compared to the wrist based (tomtom) and forehead based ( spree) optical devices

Optical wrist-based devices may be reliably accurate esp in the medical /hospital environment when the patient is practically immobile and not moving around much but once you get mobile and there's arm pump, + the inevitable sweat on sensor then accuracy goes out the window. The tomtom ( optical) has its own other issues which I've touched on in another thread .
Yeah get an optical HR monitor but don't rely solely on its HR metric
I'm convinced the best place to measure HR is near the chest area if you don't mind a strap .

I just got a Mio Fuse in the last Amazon (US) flash reduction at a very good price and waiting for it to get here. Hopefully fare better in optical HR perf .

My 2 bits anyway
good find op

No, check back through hukd posts, they were £89 and cheaper with a code with a finance deal. They were also £85 in carphonewarehouse
At that price, I would probably save up a little extra and get a vivoactive hr. Battery life is 8 days and waterproof.

Maybe you should make it clear in your posts that it's no longer £89 at Very. As I see you often say the exact same thing in any Android Watch deal, making people go searching on their website to find it at that price.

Glad your loving it, tempted myself to get one.

It is water resistant (very few things are waterproof - at low enough depths everything fails).. its IP67 rated, which means it would be fine in rain (though the touch is still likely to be inaccurate).. and it should be OK submerged in water for 30 minutes to about 3 feet depth..

Dont swim in it.. but it'll survive running in the rain. I've had my gen 1 in the shower with me multiple times (when ive forgotten to remove it) and its fine. (Its also IP67)

Ah ok that makes more sense, I thought it was a current deal. Thanks for the info.

Yes everything fails at low depths, but the SW3 is waterproof in the sense that I can take it in the shower or the pool and it works fine. I use the SW3 for recording my lengths in the pool, and sync it to swim.com

That's strange cos when I posted this it was still £89 for the black one I checked first but now £99 oos, and its just to point out there is cheaper options if your looking for maybe the first time. Or I'm just still excited lol.

No problem, I guessed that might have been the case after a bit of searching afterwards
