Moto E (3rd Gen) £50 vodafone store

This offer is in the Cheapside Vodafone shop but appears to be online as well. What stands out to me is that the store specifies this as 3rd gen. I'd be interested to hear opinions as I'm looking for a first phone for my daughter.

No such thing as the 3rd gen Moto E, it was labelled up the same in my local store and spoke to them about it. Probably just confusing it with the Moto G. Still a decent price for the phone, good bang for buck if you don't want to dip into the import market. Only thing holding me back from getting it for a relative is the lack of flash, something which isn't commented on much but will be a killer for a lot of people.

no flash, so NO torch. cold

It's the 2nd gen, there is no Moto E 3rd Gen (the Moto G4 Play is replacing the E series).

It's not a terrible phone at this price, but it was recently available at Vodafone for £39. The lack of a flash/torch is a shame, as is the absolutely abysmal camera quality (about the same as a 1st Gen Moto G).

I won't be trusting Vodafone with my money again. The last order I placed with them was refused on dispatch so I never received it, and they still took my money. It's been 8 phone calls, 11 hours on the phone, and 6 live chat instances, and they still can't figure out how to refund my money. I'm sick of the lies, contradictions and mis-information they keep spouting just to get me off the phone. Prepare for pain if anything goes wrong with your order, their customer services department is easily the worst I have ever dealt with.

Well as none of the Moto E 2nd gen phones have a flash\torch.
How does that make this particular deal cold?
You may have a requirement for a torch but that doesn't have an impact on the cost of the item here.
By your logic a £5 Lawn mower without a built in fridge would be a Cold deal.

Push them for reimbursement on call charges too. Also as it would have been an online purchase, call your card provider, they should help out.

I will be, although technically it hasn't cost me anything other than my time, as I've called for free from a Voda PAYG SIM. I might even see if I can get compensation for all of the stress it has caused.

I got one of these for the £39 last time on here its been ok stuck a 32gb sd card in it and the Life mobile £1 deal and its running really good.
The only downside of it like been said already is the lack of Flash&Torch but camera is ok i'm quite pleased with it.

Marshmallow update is available too.....

You need to but at least a £10 top up so not so good if you just want the phone to get it unlocked for a different network

If you have an existing PAYG vodafone sim can you buy it instore without the £10 top up? After the hassle a lot of people on here have had buying online I would prefer not to.

And (just double making sure) there's no isues with them being unlocked via the standard ebay unlock sellers?
