yes
Is this the follow up the piece of crap that stutters it's balls off constantly and feels like an unbranded chinese knockoff in general use?
Need a replacement for it, is this 2nd gen actually useable?

The experience with the 2nd Gen is much better than it was with the 1st. The dual-core SD200 processor in the 1st just isn't powerful enough for android, or modern apps.

The 2nd Gen uses an SD410, which is much better equipped to run android without any major lags. Although 3D gaming is still not great, and 1GB of RAM will put a bit of a strain on it's multi-tasking ability.

The main camera is still absolutely awful, although they have added auto-focus in the 2nd gen for close-up (macro) shots.

There are also a few bugs in the version of Lollipop which the 2nd gen uses (5.0.2). I had issues with Bluetooth audio stuttering in my car, and on my two Bluetooth speakers. The same issue is also present on the Moto G 2nd Gen (which also currently uses 5.0.2). Unfortunately, the Moto E 2nd Gen won't be updated to Lollipop 5.1 (which fixes the Bluetooth issues), or Marshmallow 6.0.

Hey that's very kind of you to post that info and exactly the sort of things I was looking for.
I'll give this a miss for now I think. Just looking for a cheapy-ish upgrade for my good mother who is experiencing the bad bits fo the 1st gen (my fault for being a cheap skate!)

just some information for people who are thinking about getting this, it wont be getting Andriod M

androidpolice.com/201…ys/
Sadly this won't get Android 6 which is a must as Android 5 has quite some battery problems, 6 helps that and extends it more
Wow, it seems there a quite a few fellow android police fans also use HUKDs!

Things may change, so please refer to our software upgrade page for the latest, and specifics by country:

motorola-blog.blogspot.ro/201…tml

They're not saying other devices that aren't on the list won't get the update, they're saying here's a list of devices that are guaranteed to get the update right now. I expect them to add more devices to the list in the future, as that's what they basically said.

got this will be a nice treat with my benefits along with the beats 7 pairs of trainers and a couple of new ps4 games
Bought one of these for a holiday phone, it was terrible. Such a slow phone and the camera was pathetic.

"Things may change" To me, this means that some of the phones currently on the list might not get the update.

The only devices missing from the list (apart from the US carrier versions of the Moto X 2nd) are either over 2 years old (X and G 1st Gen), or part of the E series.

Motorola said that they would guarantee 1 android upgrade when the Moto E 2nd Gen was released. They have upgraded some variants from 5.0.2 to 5.1, some variants are still waiting for the upgrade though. My guess is that all will be upgraded to 5.1, and that's where they will remain.

Bizzare post!
great deal but its not the 2015 model.
koooowweeee

great deal but its not the 2015 model.

?? Its the second edition with added 4g and a front facing extra camera so it is the 2015 edition. There is not a third edition moto-e yet is there?

I bought one last week when this offer was posted then.

NO COMPASS which was annoying as I thought every phone had one but it doesn't. Not flash for the camera and a fairly bleary camera really.

However it has lollipop and while it may not get updates it can be rooted and run cyanogenmod amoungst other roms so there is a good chance there will be an unofficial marshmallow and updates if you like that sort of think. And you can root and store your apps on the sdcard for lots of space.

4.5" screen, lollipop and a gb of ram I suspect this is the best available phone for £40. Apart from possibly the bulkier doogee x5 if you wish to take a chance of evading customs and not getting a lemon ordered direct from china...

The wife bought one when it was £69.99 as an upgrade. I have the first moto g and to be honest in some respects wish I had this phone instead. The lack of the flash for the camera is a bit of a downside.
The problem with the first gen Moto G is the lack of a memory card slot which this has. I keep having to delete apps and move photos and videos across to my computer now just to perform app updates.
I think its still a great phone for the price and it appears to run as fast as my Moto G first gen if not a little bit quicker.

Anyone has a spare T mobile/Orange/Vodafone number to purchase this deal for my son? Please PM if possible. Highly appreciate.
Thanks!

Anyone have a Vodafone, orange or t mobile they can lend me to get this?
Good deal
I type in my number when I proceed to checkout and the screen greys out (like an overlay to the website).

Anyone having same problem?
I understand this will be getting the marshmallow upgrade. Great price if you got one.
