It says snapdragon on description but all reviews point to a basic mediatek cpu
According to Moto site it's:

MT6737 Quad-core 1.3 GHz ARM Mali T720 MP1 650 MHz
I'm torn between this & a reconditioned Iphone SE. Not interested in playing games on the device, just using it for apps, browsing the internet & to take decent photos so that I don't have to carry a camera on short trips etc. Is there a clear winner? Thanks

I'd be pretty sure the photos would be better on the iPhone. Battery life on this likely to be a whole different ball game to the iPhone though. You could look at the Moto g5 standard too which had a better camera, or even the Moto g4 plus at just £15 more from Amazon

IPhone se camera performance much better also a nicer screen on the iPhone, Apple very good on updating software on there phones. Maybe a Motorola g5 or g4 be a better choice if you want to use an Android phone.
Thanks jazzuk777 & korny2. So the g4 and g5 are better phones than the E4? Looks like maybe I should go with the reconditioned Iphone SE from O2 refresh. Just a bit wary of what happens if something goes wrong with the phone. How is O2's 1 year warranty, anyone know?

Yes the G4 and G5 are generally better phones. The E4 Plus is only really better in the battery life department.

It would be the iPhone hands down the tec in the se is far superior and the camera the Moto is basic but depend what you want the battery on the iPhone se will last half as long even though the se has a good battery life compared to usual iPhone usual battery life it's exceptional I have one and it lasts all day six hours screen time the Moto is huge compared to the se but for value for money it's the iPhone hands down if you can get one for similar price I paid 160 for my se brand new the a9 cpu in the iPhone is still faster than most flagship androids phones and will be supported to 2019 at least with iOS not that the updates add much mind everyone including android seems to have run out of ideas nougat is worse than marshmallow with notifications been put to sleep

The general opinion seems to be that the Apple updates incrementally cripple their phonesso while it may be supported until 2019, it won't be usable until then unless you stop updating it. Android is somewhat like this too but not so much, depending on the manufacturer and their bloatware.

Think £149 is the rrp for this phone not a deal. 2yr warranty is the only above standard part.

Direct from Motorola with the ever present ukwelcome10 code for starters. It doesn't seem a particularly good value phone generally unless extra long battery life is your be all and end all

Or at box or handtec or actually *cheaper* here
hotukdeals.com/dea…405

But like I say, seems over priced compared to other options, including others from the Moto stable.
With the g5 s phones out soon, expect some good deals on the g5 non s and plus non s coming very soon. The g5 was only £120 from O2 recently and a better phone in almost every regard and still respectable battery life. Expect similar or better deals possibly.

The problem is the G5S phones are an extra £50 on top of the G5 prices. Seems expensive for what they are, with other UK released phones in a similar price bracket.

Yes but my point is the standard pre s versions will likely be bargains any time now
