16GB
Love mine 🤣
I had thought the Moto E was meant to be a budget version of the Moto G, but was pleasantly surprised by the E4 Plus.

Got mine from Vodafone with 3GB/16GB. Memory can be expanded with a microSD which can be formatted to act as an expansion of the internal memory (behaves slightly differently to the G4 Play). Only single sim. The battery is now built in - not (intended to be) user removable. The battery has a much higher rating and claims to last 2 days though not had a chance to fully test that yet. It is noticeably heavier than the G4 Play.

It does come with a 10W (2A) fast charger (wall plug and removable USB-micro USB cable) and initial testing does suggest it needs to be used with that to get any sort of charge rate on the phone. Left plugged in to a laptop standard USB connection for several hours only added about 5% charge. Overnight I tend to leave my phone plugged in to a 500mA charger, but 5 hours only added about 50% to the battery.
just a quad core and only 1. something worries me, its all about at least 3gb ram and octocore. tho good phone for person who don't multi task much on phone

Only 1? Do you mean 1GB? The E4 Plus has 3GB Ram.

iPhone 7 has 'just a quad core' and only 2GB RAM!
I may get this phone for the Mum given that she never leaves WhatsApp these days.

Any thoughts the price of this phone will drop anytime soon?
Just bought this and thinking to try to return as hotspot don't stay on:( tried everything ,seems to be a problem with software.by the way it only does 2.4ghz on wifi....
any real world experience how the 720p screen is over 5.5"? I'm tempted to upgrade my mum to this as although she doesnt need a new phone really, the increase in screen and massive battery would be really good for her.
i meant 1.3 ghz, its oka if don't need anything demanding, i phones specs and android are different.
Looks ideal for her indoors.

The fact that it doesnt have a super high res screen & its not overly speedy processor must mean that the huge battery lasts even longer??

Wondering though if its worth buying unlocked from John Lewis for £149.

Means no hassle unlocking and a 2 year warranty.....

Having said that it looks like only £1.99 to unlock on fleabay....

It's fine, the screen is generally good quality for the price. My mum has one, and loves it.

Her only issue is the cameras, which aren't great.

She doesn't charge hers for 3-4 days, using WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and chrome. Which is seems crazy to me when my phone's dead by 6PM every day.
Does this have a Compass Magnetometer for Googe maps? Reviews claim it does, but then again that as true of thee G4 too and it doesn't.

What are the implications of it only being 2.4ghz on wifi?

Does it correctly tell you which direction you're moving in.. that's my issue with the G4, as it has no compass :(.. Well that and the notorious 'ghost touch' problem.

What are the implications of it only being 2.4ghz on wifi?

5GHz provides faster data rates at a shorter distance, whereas 2.4GHz offers coverage for farther distances, but may perform at slower speeds. And you might have less interfere if you on 5ghz as all other things around house is probably running on 2.4ghz
I've edited my previous ram comment. Sorry for the confusion. It is 3gb.

I'm not sure why they didn't put at least a hexacore in it though. A mediatek quad core processor isn't desirable at all. Light use, or not.

A 720p screen is justifiable for the price, but mid range ram and a weak processor are an odd combo.

I have this phone at the moment and if not for the hotspot switching off i would keep it.as a guy moving from note 4 it's a nice device considering the price of course.

Thanks for answering > Do you know if the phone has a compass? (as in, does it tell you the direction you're going in google maps.. as the G4 doesn't )
While i was looking up the specs of this handset, i came across a deal for the G5 Plus on Amazon U.S.A for $179 (£138) at current rates to which i thought was interesting. It was the 32GB 2GB ram version though and now it's gone back up to $229(£177)

Might be useful to someone who has friends or family in US.

None of the current Moto G, E or C ranges have a compass, at least not the UK variants. Even the latest G5S Plus, which is £260.

That's what I thought... or rather I know the G5 US version does, but that's about it. I wasn't aware of whether this E4 Plus version did though. if it doesn't it really is annoying. It can be really useful to have one and I can't think it'd cost much to include it grrrrr

It's a trade off though cause while the U. S version of the G Plus does have a compass, it only has 2GB of ram...
What would you use compass for?

What would you use compass for?

It lets you what direction you're moving in / facing on Google maps, is useful for star gazing apps etc

I think i used google maps on my moto e4 plus despite not having compass and it worked fine like alike on my note 4 with one.i think compass is not needed anymore as gps uses several satellites and determines direction you going to?
Just got one of these earlier this week, after dropping and possibly bricking my current phone.

Have a contract with vodafone, but my handset wasn't covered and needed a decent handset quickly, so went for this.

Still had to buy the £10 top up, but was told they have credited my contract account with £10 to cover it... still not sure why they cant just sell you the handset though.

Anyway, decent handset... feels quite big in the hand, but seems to work fine so far.
Does this have NFC thanks x
