I have this phone and paid ~£150 for it from Three but just have an EE SO contract.

The battery life on the phone is phenomenal, and can easily last you a full day with intensive use or a couple of days with minimal use. Great screen size as well for video viewing, though watching full length movies won't obviously be great. Yes the performance isn't amazing, and the camera is pretty poor, but for social media browsing, casual gaming and use of Spotify it cannot be faulted, especially for £99. Perfect for anyone who is happy to have a smartphone without the added gimmicks.

And yes it does have NFC and works well.

I've just returned from 3 weeks in America and took the E4+ as mine has dual SIM. There is a simple fix for the camera producing average photos, disable the stock camera app in settings and install Open Camera. Open Camera makes full use of the all of the setttings available on the lense, I took amazing HDR photos across the NY skyline from the top of the Rock at night. It's also on Three and I've never had a connection problem plus I used 5GB of data with AT&T on the trip at no cost thanks to free US roaming.

I thought sim free meant unlocked. I ordered it because I thought it was unlocked, so I hope it is.

Oh ok thanks I stand corrected
I have had this phone for a couple of months. I might just be unlucky but I have problems with Wifi and Data. They lose signal and the only way I get it back is rebooting the phone. Never had this issue with any other phone I've owned and I have reset the phone loaded minimum apps and yet it still does it. Today I decided to get the paperwork out and contact Moto and ask for replacement or refund. Has anyone else had issues with this phone?
Internal memory 16GB. OK if you don't plan intensive BBC iPlayer video downloads.

sim free is unlocked - any sim will work in it
Only 16gb internal memory I will only buy 32 GB up as I have the Moto X play 16 GB, mirco SD card port gives up after awhile

Is there a limitation on storing apps on the SD card, as there was on the earlier Motos ?

The e4 plus has a fault when Bluetooth is on then WiFi drops out, I've had 2 and both suffer the same fault. Googled it and lots have the same issue and as yet can't find a fix

Install a rooted ROM of Oreo, my E4+ is now perfect and much faster. No more WiFi issues and Bluetooth now downloads address book to car.

The WiFi issue is common to all UK models running Android Nougat. Moto are not issuing an update as it's about to be discontinued. You'll need to download an Oreo ROM which cures all current issues. I've had mine for 3 months and it's superb. No other smartphone has a battery that last this long. If you get a replacement, you'll have the same WiFi problem out of the box. It also doesn't work at all on 5Ghz Wi-Fi, but I'm OK with that. Beats a Crapple any day!

Open developer options menu, then force allow apps on to external.
Voted hot, but won't touch a 16gb at that price personally.

It does, don't worry about it. :-)
I'm waiting until June for the E5 Plus... It'll cost a bit more (£149) but hopefully worth the extra.

I did wonder about it's internal storage capabilities, as none was originally mentioned.

Good specs, for a reasonable price I guess, so not bad. :-)
Just a note on the 16gb internal memory, you can add a micro SD card and have the option on this phone to use it like a standard memory card in a phone, or have it formatted to be used as additional internal memory.

I have one of these and it's excellent for browsing, netflix, youtube etc.... on it's 5.5 inch screen all day long and still having battery left! The fingerprint sensor is a nice feature and most importantly calls are nice and clear.
I found installing a third party camera app improved things slightly as well, as my only problem with the camera was the slight delay between pressing the button and it taking a pic. For £99 sim free it's not a Galaxy S9, but it is a bargain.

I know, because I have one.

The OP's above appears a good phone too.

I have the P2 and the E4Plus (both dual sim from Three). The P2 beats the E4Plus hands down on camera, on audio quality and it doesn't have the abovementioned connectivity issues of the E4Plus. However, the E4Plus is responsive, nice to handle and at £99 (my P2 cost £200), I'm adding heat to this deal. (PS, for those to whom it matters, the otherwise excellent P2 has a glitch; extremely quiet voice recording volume which no app seems to be able to overcome. )

Which ROM did you use ?
I be great full if you guys tell me how to fix Three signal on my Moto e4 plus?
I bought this phone cheap for a friend and spent a weekend setting it up for him. With the weak Mediatek CPU, I thought the user experience would be awful.

To my amazement, it handled everything I threw at it just fine. Intensive things like scrolling on a heavy webpage was way better than expected, all with excellent battery life. 3GB Ram really helps things out.

If I trashed my One Plus 3 tomorrow and only had £99 in my pocket, I'd get this in an instant.

If you install the Oreo ROM though, will that not disable the ability to use NFC, as it is not the stock installed ROM? I could be wrong but I had this problem with my old phone when I installed Cyanogenmod.
Questions:

> Operating System Android Lollipop
> Software Version Android 7.1.1

So which one is it?

> Video Recording Capability 720p

Isn't that a bit poor?

Does it come with screen protector/case, etc?

What's the warranty lenght?
Edited by: "gorgo2015" 1st May
It's 7.1 nougat, and 720 is ample for a phone, no screen protector and the warranty is 6 inches in length. Try using your internet.
