Personally i'd spend £150-200 nowadays but each to their own - budget handsets have always interested me since the Orange San Francisco!

I've got to return my S7 for repair, is this a decent spare phone in comparison?

I dont think it'll compare to a S7 tbh but depending how long your phone is away for then maybe!

Moto phones are pretty good imo - No nonsense Android - This phone certainly has decent battery
When someone gets one please give us a mini review!

Thanks!

Same, and I've still got my San Francisco. Excellent little back up phone.
is the e range not lower level than G ?
eg moto g5 is 119 on amazon (first place looked)
benefits here seen to be potentially:
oreo now
bigger battery
bigger screen
low res screen so better performance?

Yeah the E range is lower than the G range

However Moto E5 plus coming soon at £149 is quite similar to Moto G6 play which has come down to £149

Moto E5 plus has a massive 5000mah battery like the Moto E4 plus - 5000mah makes the phone pretty heavy imo

Standard Moto E5 still has a decent 4000mah battery and is a bit lighter

I think the E5 at £99 plus £10 top up at Carphone Warehouse is a great buy
