Will Android M make the 8gb usable by allowing internal apps to be used on the sd card?

It does on my Moto E (2nd gen). Still got over 2GB free internal space and I've got over 5GB apps installed to SD card
Can't figure out how to buy one without a top up though...

Choose your top up bundle and add to basket, you are not charged for the bundle. If you choose a £10 bundle then you have to top up by £10 to activate it, if you don't want it or are on another network just don't top up.

I'm sure someone can explain it better than me

Ah right. Just hoping the same process will work in store as I've just realised I'm still waiting for my replacement bank card.

I don't think they have them in store to collect immediately, think it's next day. You pay online and collect in store as far as i can see.

Oh man I wouldn't mind buying a new one for £90 as long as I don't need a top up. Rather buy one from O2 than Vodafone. The staff look down their noses at customers in that shop

They all (network operators) used to do battle in the streets to get you on their network. Nowadays they are NFI.

I ordered mine yesterday evening. It has literally just been pushed through the letter box and I can confirm it is in brand new condition. The only difference between this and a 'new' one is the retail box, that's it. Well pleased

will this work on my current EE sim?

You'll need to get it unlocked which is £1.25 from ebay, I've just unlocked mine.

Same here, ordered Sunday delivered Monday. Absolutely brand new condition. Seems pointless paying paying an extra £20 for the retail box.
I was really hoping for the 16gb version. Anyone know of any deals for the 16gb version?
£79 on Vodafone brand new and about £1.60 for an unlock code on Ebay so why on earth would you opt for a second hand phone.

They are most likely customer returns. Open box, take phone out, don't like it, return to box, send back. I would throw the same thing back at you and say, why on earth would you pay an £10 extra for the same phone in the same condition and buy it from the worst company ever?

Edit: OOS at Vodafone, it's been like that for at least the week that I have spent looking for one.

I bought one a couple of months ago it came on 5.something, it upgraded to 6.0.
it was on 5.0.1 android on the two refurbs i got, and would not update to 6.0 motorolla confirmed a problem, so this guy is lucky as both phones wont take upgrades for me and i have to return to motorolla at my cost, or get refund from o2
Great bargain thanks OP! I have been waiting for this price for some time. Awesome! I had some problems checking out on the PC (it didn't like my date of birth!) but worked fine when checking out from a phone.

I love this phone , it's fast and on par with ones that cost 3 times the amount

Is it quite snappy compared to the original Moto G?
Not all apps can be moved to SD card with Android 6
If an app supported being moved to the SD card in earlier versions of Android then it will install to the SD card in Marshmallow, provided you're using the SD card as internal storage. Also, when apps are installed to SD card and you create files using those apps e.g. photo edits then those files you create get stored to SD card. I'm really impressed with the OS so far.
Thanks OP, ordered and being delivered tomorrow. Bargain!:D
It's been said a million times but its worth saying again....

1gb/8gb is a waste of time on Android.

£70 doesn't represent a saving, it's a waste of £70 because the phone is obsolete unless all you want to do is make phone calls and occasionally check the weather forecast.

Not the best phone around but for under £70 absolute steal

I think that's too harsh a take on this phone (and similar phones) running Android 6 (such as the Moto E2). With adoptable storage ( pocket-lint.com/new…low ) some apps start using the microsd card to store some of their data by default. More modern apps start putting some of their data there (specifically their obb files en.wikipedia.org/wik…lob ), with app updates keeping the data there, and you can also set photos and music to be stored there too. You have 8GB of storage on the phone and after deducting about 3.5GB for the Android OS, and further space for working, there is a bit over 2GB for apps. Apps vary in how much of their data they store on the card, but larger, more modern apps can store most of their data on the card. This might allow an extra 2/3GB of extra space for apps, and with photos and music off-card, it might make it viable. That said, the Moto G 4th gen is well reviewed ( trustedreviews.com/mot…iew ), and costs 'only' 159.99 ( hotukdeals.com/dea…864 ).
