£123.49 if the Quidco pays out! Looks like the best price so far for the 4G version unless you had Tesco ClubCard vouchers. Can be unlocked for a few bob on Ebay.

The offer posted also includes £10 top up and with the Quidco is cheaper - I would be far happier to buy the phone from o2 personally.

Is £120 @ Tesco direct with the £15 voucher.

I can't see where it says Top Up is included in this deal - when you select to purchase on a PAYG basis it then gives you 3 options of either £10, £15 or £20 monthly top up. You have to select one to continue to next stage. Even if you select the £20 monthly option the price stays at £129.99. I could be wrong but looks like no top up is included.

I take your point that you would rather deal with O2 but LWC Mobile are a reputable company and only had 4 customer complaints in the last year (going by their Feedback).

That or tesco with the clubcard points & free back covers (if they are of interest). This isn't bad if quidco tracks, but nothing special.

Beats your effort though...;)

They think wrong then. Unblocking is illegal though, unlocking isn't.

While it's not illegal, unlocking your phone WILL invalidate its warranty … While it's not illegal, unlocking your phone WILL invalidate its warranty in most cases.

The article referred to clearly states that unlocking, whilst legal, will almost certainly void your warranty:

Yep it does. I totally got the wrong end of the stick.

I doubt O2 would bother checking to see if it was unlocked if you return it.

Will giffgaff work on this or will I need to unlock it? thanks!

while may invalidate a warranty, it doesnt remove statutory rights, which a warranty is in addition to, not in place of

Great phone...got this for my son with the Tesco double -up clubcard vouchers offer..... he's luv ving it......

Unlocking the 4G version of the Moto G is not always possible via the cheap services on E.bay. It apparently depends on what batch it comes from and is generally pot luck!

I understand that the battery is not easily be removed. Has anyone tried to replace the battery with the new battery. I have Moto G but the battery is not good anymore. ....

My friend got a MOTO G 4G phone from TESCO. But he could not unlock it so far.
He tried lot of Ebay merchants, but they said it is not possible to unlock TESCO MOTOG 4G ones.

Not sure if it's of any use to anyone - but I got this phone on contract after doing some sums. I use <500MB data on 3g per month.
Previous provider Giff Gaff £10 a month (rolling one month goodybag) for 24 months + this phone = 369.99
Tesco @ £13.50 * 24 = £324 (+ clubcard points etc.)
Your mileage may vary; but it was the best I saw.
(not voted BTW)
P.S. If it wasn't for the ability to cap my bill I wouldn't have gone contract.

not all I me is work some do just return it and get another phone

Unlocking a phone should not void the warranty but network suppliers will tell you that to stop you buying one from them and unlocking to use immedietly on a rival network. THis is because they often subsidise the price on the basis you'll buy top ups from them and their business model is based on making the profit on air time rather than hardware.

Of course if your phone goes wrong it'll go to Moto's repair depot anyway and I doubt they're instructed to check it's still network locked before repairing.

I'd certainly be interested in anyone that has had their unlocked phone rejected for warranty repair simply because it was unlocked and refused a repair, unless the fault was due to too many failed attempts at unlocking of course.

For the pedants: Unlocking the bootloader or flashing a ROM using non approved methods will void the warranty.

I have the older version of this phone, which is the same size and appearance. I am not normally one for plastic addons and such but the official Moto back covers are fantastic and completely add instant classiness. So many people have gone wow at my phone since I swapped the back for a lime green one.

OK I know what you're thinking but just give it a try.

can these be unlock from eBay ?

thank you! next cheapest price for me was £149 as I can't get any Tesco codes to work on any accounts & I've used my clubcard points. My autistic son but through the screen on my original moto G yesterday so I'm using it as an excuse to upgrade

Last time I checked (18/08/14) from this seller. If your IMEI falls under these then it's a no no. IMEI not returning codes are;

359290.05.124xxxxx
359290.05.126xxxxx
359290.05.128xxxxx
359290.05.129xxxxx
359290.05.132xxxxx
359290.05.133xxxxx
359290.05.136xxxxx

Got a reply from another seller who claims my IMEI unlock code can be provided within 3 working days;
Unlock Code AT&T Motorola Moto X XT1058 Atrix MB860 Atrix 2 MB865 Atrix HD MB866
£5.33
eBay item number: 141374149750

Not tried this seller yet so can't vouch the unlock. Any tried this seller?

You're absolutely right about the top-up not being included nor required.

Can these be used in the US etc?

These phones are absolute bargains. Just got one on Tesco for £16/mth with 2Gb data. Cracking.

FYI a new version will be announced on 04-Sep and probably released within <1 month - bigger screen, better camera, front stereo speakers + slightly higher price.

Its just speculation dude, based on the fact the specs will be slightly better, sort of makes sense I think. You know what pricing can be like, wildly different depending where you get it from
