A bit confused, these are not 4g versions right ?

Free delivery - to a store to collect.
£3 to delivery to your house.

Or alternatively buy for £90 direct from vodafone with free delivery and save messing around with vouchers and going to collect it.

How's the camera on this older model, decent for random snaps?

Is OK for random snaps, only 5mp but for snaps ok.

I'm also looking at the Vodafone smart 4 turbo for £10 cheaper and the same specs. Anyone had experience with either of theses phones and can compare?

for anything 5mp is fine, just depends on the user, i got a 14 mp digital camera, and the photos i take still come out looking like crap, a photographer can take grade A photos with a 2mp camera

Honestly its a great Android phone but i find it quite heavy and the camera is decent.

turbo got 4g, i was thinking to get voda power

they're 1st generation phones. so no 4g.

8gb too small. Go for the bigger spec.

The camera is pretty decent. I love the panaroma mode on it.

here are a few 'snaps' I took a while back :

I have this phone and I love it ! even with little gig I store everything on one drive that is on it so I see no problem and on the plus side everything is backed up, the camera I found is just as good as any of the leading ones, to be honest I only got this as a temp as I broke my I phone and ended up keeping it as I feel its that good highly recommended

8gb and 3G is not a problem for me anyway.

Beddy byes time?

I think anyone who wants this phone (which for some strange reason seems to be everyone on hukd) either has one by now or knows that they are constantly being sold for next to nothing at tesco. Probably doesn't need posting about multiple times per day.

Worth every penny and more if you're happy with 8 gig. Personally went 16 gig. There are better cameras but it's perfect for every day snapping. Hot.

I doubt anyone cares much what you think in that respect, least of all people who are new to hukd and/or have not heard of the Moto G. If you're not interested move on, why bother even looking let alone commenting?

I was wondering that myself.

So, we're down to just 2G then?

(The difference a bit of punctuation can make!).

This is pretty much the standard price since the g2 and 4g versions are out

Looking for a budget phone myself and had a look after seeing comment but says 4gb memory. But takes micro sd card so that's a bonus.

Personally i went for the Moto G Grip shell, it fits in place of your battery cover so it doesnt add bulk, fits great and looks and feels good too. Was around £8 when i bought it.

For the front I added a Tuffskinz Crystal Clear HD screen protector, some would argue you don't need one since this phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen but for the sake of £2 I thought I would just add one anyway.

Prices may have changed since but thats the protection iv got on mine

Hope that helps

Love my moto 4g but why do half my snaps come out blurry. What am i doing wrong?

Just ordered one thanks, upgrading from an old Xperia Play that is driving me insane with the 512mb ram and constant low space warning.

Wanted to buy the 2014 moto g but 5" is too big.

I had the Xperia Play before the Moto G 8Gb first gen; you're gonna love it, it's a whole world of difference. Length wise, It's at the limit of what I can operate with one hand, so possibly avoiding 5" is a good move; the only bummer with this model is lack of gyroscopes, so no Google Cardboard etc.

The Xperia Play was such a missed opportunity; the slide out controls were *great* but the CPU, GFX and memory were too limited for games really. Mine died (would no longer charge any batteries), so had to replace it; additionally, it needed a new battery and real ones were no longer being made.

I flushed my Xperia Play in the toilet. Don't ask.

I'm asking... go on, how?

I got a Moto G for my partner as her first smartphone; I loved it so much I was willing my Xperia Play to break down to give me an excuse to get one, which it then subsequently did!

It's not about how many megapixels, it's the sensor quality
5mp = 2592x1944 pixels, that's your limit on output size
I'm sure you can find plenty of cameras at 3mp which are better quality than this and also at 8mp which are worse quality.

I believe that's a picture of Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. I was there. I strongly recommend visiting that place.

I've had this a few months. Decent phone all round, apart from the camera, which drives me insane! It is capable of nice static shots, as shown above. However, anything moving in the scene at all and it comes out a complete mess...

Pretty sure this was the standard price a year ago, wasn't it?

Just curious, how is the Moto G 8gb camera compared to the old 5MP Xperia Play? I find the Xperia play capable of some really nice shots. I'm not expecting the Moto G to be as good, would be very happy if it was though.

Neither are very good.

So if I was happy with the Play camera I will be happy with the Moto.
