Just bought the moto g from phones 4 u. Should be 130 but you can get it for 100 just by providing them with an orange pay as you go number. Number must have credit and been active for 6 months. I just used the sim I use for Orange Wednesdays. I didn't even have it with me, just provided him with the number and the system did the rest. Pretty good to say I was gonna just pay 130.

Phone is unlocked I checked. I will be putting a Vodafone sim in

Wow thanks! Was waiting for the Tesco one.

Any chance of a mini review of the phone when you have used it a bit?

is it instore or online

You can only do the upgrade instore, I did it with an o2 number today, phone ended up at £115, carphone warehouse do this too but apparently you have to have the sim with you at carphone warehouse.

i have been using it since yesterday morning and think its excellent. Ive had a lot of android phones and im loving it. Migrate is a fantastic app and is quick. The phone is fast and has 5.5gb usable storage for the 8gb model. Battery is taking alot of hammer as my lil boy is in hospital(sleepin mainly) so ive been using it loads. Games are flawless. Screen is nice. Anything in particular you want to know?

The camera is quite good and great for quick snaps but its not going to blow anyone away. At the end of the day its a 5megapixel smartphone camera. I cant think of a smartphone at this price with a better camera though.

On Quadrant Benchmark im getting between 8500 and 8900 consistently.

is price on orange cheaper even though they are all sim free?
why is orange upgrade price £99.95 but o2 is £115?

I just went in with my orange payg that a
I rarely use and wasn't eligible. hot deal though.

does the white cover come with the phone or is that your 'guaranteed prize'?

Shame that it didn't work. They just said to me the sim had to have credit and not been 'upgraded' in the last 6 months. Don't know what that means.

All the other networks were 120 or 115 quid. Don't know why, just so happened I was using one for Orange Wednesdays.

Am I right in assuming that it's only Orange pay as you go?

Do they have any 16GBs available?

Will this work with an Orange contract SIM?

The review gives a 6, a 7 and an 8 a couple of times. But a 10 overall? Personally I wouldn't trust a review like that...

Sorry, but their sneaky privacy policy is just unbelievable. I am not sure I want to do business with those guys...

Orange seem to have the best upgrade prices at Phones4u. O2 and Vodafone the dearest. All Phones4u phones are unlocked. You also get a free scratchcard for their £1 million pound giveaway!

What is a sim only upgrade? Nothing changes or does?
Because i was thinking to get a friend to get one for me.

Are the phones unlocked or do I have to buy sim free? Just wondering if I can save a fiver and buy one with a sim and 10 quid top up.

I have an orange sim which is eligible for upgrade. I want to buy a phone for my father, who don't play games/surf internet much but prefer better building quality and battery life.

Then which one should I buy, Nokia Lumia 520 for £70(and £6 Quidco as well) at CPW or this Moto G for £100 at P4U?

Thanks a lot in advance.

deathsmate all phones from p4u are unlocked, they are at Carphone Warehouse as well.

My girlfriend has a Orange pay monthly contract. Would that be eligible do you know? Or is it PAYG only?

Could I potentailly use my mothers simcard shes an Orange customer?

So If I was to buy the 16GB one, it'd be 130?

Someone may correct me, but I don't think they're selling the 16GB in store yet.

Does it have an expandable memory?

No. Go for the 16GB model if storage is an issue

Anyone been able to get the 16GB model?

16gb model won't be available until next week.

OP said "provided him with the number and the system did the rest" so I'm guessing they check with Orange who the sim belongs to. Of course, you could always pass yourself off as someone else.

I'd say a straight yes.

I've provided just a "number" for my brother to do it before. All I got was a courtesey call from my brother asking me if he could, whilst he was in the store, I said yes to him, but I received nothing in the way of texts, or the store actually asking me if I'd consented.

only a usb ...what no mains plug ?

This will become more common. Many people have spare USB chargers now, so to comply with an EU waste directive phones don't always ship with plugs. If it makes it cheaper I'm all for it.
