Having seen the Motorola G4 play reaching hot temperatures despite being a poor upgrade when compared to the G3.

I'd suggest people look at this one.

Why the G4 is better than the G4 play?

Screen: 5.5" producing 1080 x 1920 screen resolution so 401 pixes per inch(PPI). compared with the 5" screen producing 720 x 1280 pixels and 294 PPI
CPU: Uses an Octa-core (4x1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.2 GHz Cortex-A53) instead of a slower Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 in the G4 Play.

GPU: Uses an Adreno 405 running at 550MHz and not the 306 at 450MHZ.

Also uses Direct x 11.1 and not 9.3, better for gaming.

RAM: Uses 2gb of snapdragon 617 at 800MHz compared with 2gb of snapdragon 410 at 533MHz.

Camera: 13 MP, f/2.0, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash. Compared with 8 MP, f/2.2, autofocus, LED flash.

Sensor: Uses a gyroscopic sensor as well as an accelerometer.

Capable of fast charging.

That aside the G4 has a smaller screen so maybe better for some users, a removable battery and slightly lighter due to the smaller screen.

Make sure the phone you select has the bronze and blue screen and states Moto G 4th Gen.

VERY do also now have the g4 Play for £99.99 which if the code works on this variant as well would mean it would be £73.98. I can't check this as i've already used the code.

I wouldn't recommend ordering with Very. They have shady practices when it comes to promo codes. They will often charge your account for the discounted amount at a later date, with the excuse that the promo code wasn't yours to use.

Also, I dislike the fact that you have to open a credit account with them in order to place an order.

No you don't. You can pay out right with your card or even paypal without applying for credit.

Very.

A very poor shopping experience

Sorry, what?

Also uses Direct x 11.1 and not 9.3, better for gaming.

Never heard of Direct X (a Windows technology) being built into an Android build.

Thanks will keep an eye out for that, i'd imagine if argued there they would have a hard time standing by it, if you were a genuine 1st time customer.

As for the credit account: True, but i'd say it wouldn't matter to most.

Thats not true, even if paying in full (as i did) you are required to open a credit facility with them. Just make sure to close the account after you are finished with it otherwise you will always have £X amount available as credit, so may go against you if looking for credit elsewhere.

I will have to dissagree with you on that as you don't need to apply for credit with very to order. You create your basic account and then you can start ordering and paying by card and then there is an option to apply for credit after.

if you have bad credit.is this a good way to rebuild it.
will they eventually offer me credit if I keep buying from them

Mobiles listed under "electricals" and only 10% off using code PLUS £3.95 delivery. That makes it £120.94 delivered

Be careful, those of us who used code on another deal have been charged full price as the code is 'towards your next purchase', and has an expiry date. When I realised and tried to cancel order same day, was told order already with supplier and can't be cancelled...so now either have to refuse delivery, or accept delivery and then return it=hassle.

You are so wrong words cannot convey how wrong you are, oh wait they can.....

"You're WRONG!!!"

I'm sorry, what? OP has no idea what he/she is talking about here. Plus it's simply a Very credit account w/ promo code.

Cold from me

Both are the same amount but the snapdragon 617 is faster than the 410, therefore better.

Discount comes off when order dispatched.

Another correction haha. Discounts appear in the order confirmation page once a code is added unless you are adding it on a bnpl order for credit back as that won't appear on your account until a month or 2 after you place your order.

i set up an account last month and bought and paid for an item, when my monthly credit score came in my score had gone down as very had done a credit search on me for a credit account even though I'd not wanted one

So if you did get a credit account just contact them and tell them to cancel as you would like a basic account.

How do you mean "another correction haha"?

As for the discount It showed as being applied at the point of checkout and payment. I then noticed in the "recent orders" section that the full price was showing. So worried, i phoned to confirm that the code would be taken into account and the operator stated that "discount will be applied when the order is dispatched". Which it was, £103.98 has been taken from my account and despite delivery being next Friday, the phone has been delivered.

So ordered on the 25th, dispatched 28th, delivered 29th. Not too shabby.

How would this phone compare to my aged HTC m7? My m7 has battery issues and is laggy despite factory resets. Would this phone feel like an upgrade?
