Great specs for the £, Hot.

for those that don't know: the black version is single simcard and the white one is dual simcard.

hence, I rather pay £18 more and get the white dual sim from JL with 2yr warranty....

and that's exactly what I did after my LG G4 went into boot loop..... needed a phone quick whilst mine was getting sorted out by LG.

No NFC?

I am yet to see the 32GB version on HUKD...

I have just got the G4 plus from the Motorola website ..... dual SIM and as card .... nice phone for £254 .... no NFC or compass thou.

nope. but the phone is amazingly good. better battery life than my LG, better signal strength and splash proof. only let down is the camera in comparison to the LG but we are talking 1/2 the price!

No NFC on the G4 or G4 Plus. Strange decision because the cheaper G4 Play does have NFC.

it is possible to get a black dual sim version though, not looked for it in the uk, but as an example it's around £240 from this Czech shop: max-shop.cz/mot…tml

edit: sorry, this is the g4 plus dual, black

I don't believe JL's current stock are Dual SIM.

All versions on Moto G site are Dual SIM, and only white on Amazon.

I just can't get exited about this phone

Clearly a typo as there is no 8gb variant of the g4

Just like there's no 16GB G4 Plus, yet Amazon sell them.

Great phone but I miss the stereo speaker & compass gyrometer on my old Moto G2

Very quick phone though really responsive and a very nice bright hd screen
Battery life similar to previous Moto G
Overall its 8/10 in my book

Just got white Moto g4 from JL and it is a dual sim phone.

Tesco is better option, collect tomorrow, quidco 1.5%.
Also After the first twelve months from delivery you may be offered a partial refund depending on the product and usage.
The Amazon warranty is only 12 months.

O2 site is a mess, says its 8Gb (wrong) and its got NFC (wrong)

£254 and no NFC or Compass a bit pricey they should be standard for that price IMO

I'm not sure why you think that there shouldn't be a 16GB G4 Plus variant, it's clearly listed in the specs on Motorola's site:

Storage (ROM)
16 GB / 32 GB / 64 GB internal, up to 128 GB microSD Card support³

Yes buts its never been available from Moto's UK site only US, and through Amazon UK as an exclusive.

I certainly wouldn't buy from CPW without checking.

How does this compare with a Samsung Galaxy S5 please?

OK price for old technology

There seems to be a small software glitch at the moment where the power and volume down button become unusable. I have experienced it twice and if you google the problem it shows up, worry not though a hold down of the power button solves it.

The phone is excellent for the money although the camera is not the best and the battery life is excellent.

I am running a 128gb sd card and both o2 and asda sims and it works a treat.

And the fast charge facility for anyone that has not used such before is also great.

No compass either which makes mapping apps less useful!

These budget phones are great value BUT I am still waiting for one to appear with features like the G4 but with NFC, compass and a good camera (almost invariably a weak spot!)

I would never buy a phone from Tesco again. The day it is older than 30 days old, if you have any issues, they will only return to base for repair, not replace.

Which provided they do it in a reasonable time is all they are required to do. Don't however let them fob you off with dealing directly with the manufacturer (I did hear customer services try to do that once with a non-electrical item).

just purchased from John Lewis for £159. I know it's more but I like the extra years warranty. excellent phone, battery life is amazing and runs really quick.

Fab phone. Bought from appliances direct for £135 for the dual sim after the £20 which discount. had loads of issues not getting the code, then the code not being accepted... but after a couple of calls, got it all sorted. Then advised no stock so i called to cancel and they somehow found stock and shipped priority Saturday delivery. After all that, the phone arrived and it's actually brilliant. The dual sim is great. I have ordered the 200Mb free sim from Three for emergency backup data. it's incredibly simple to switch between the sims and you can even link texts to one sim, calls to the second sim, and data to either sim too. essentially you can have a data only sim and then a low cost minutes and text sim running along side each other.

Use NFC and there is no turning back - contactless payment is just so

Use NFC and there is no turning back - contactless payment is just so … Use NFC and there is no turning back - contactless payment is just so convenient

There may be no turning back, but there are credit cards, tags, key fobs, etc. & for me battery life/security would be more of a concern. Each to their own.

EDIT: Relatively tangential point: I hate the security of contactless cards, but a conversation with a like minded person recently made me realise (think may be more accurate) that I am safer using contactless when available than she is in only using it some of the time that it is available... my argument was always that if the card has contactless, I have the insecurity so may as well use the convenience too, while she often does not use it because like me she does not like the security; my rationale to her was that she would be safer using it as each time I use it I must move the trigger for requiring the PIN to be entered 1 transaction closer, however each time she enters her PIN by choice she resets the PIN required counter. Is my thinking correct?

Even less relevant point that reminded me of - I know someone who was once told in a phone shop they needed a pin to remove her SIM, so she entered her unlock code on the phone thinking it was her PIN & thinking that was the pin they meant...

no compass is what will affect most people as it means poor sat nav performance in my experience. can anybody comment who has tried to use this phone for navigation?

So does this have no GPS so you can't use apps like strava and Google maps to find your location?

Cancelled Tesco order as I Got the White Dual Sim for £140.95 from appliances direct beats this deal.

Phone £150
Sign up to which for £1 to get £20 off
£9.95 next day delivery

Great phone

no replaceable backs on these?
to force you to use motomaker (~35quid more) or just not yet?
