Take stunning selfies and keep them safe

Take holiday snaps to share with your family. Or impress your friends with crystal clear selfies. The Moto G Play has an 8 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, so you can get clear shots every time. And it automatically backs your pictures up to Google Photos. It stores them safely and even organises them, so you'll always be able to find the photo you're after.

Don't be afraid of splashes

Accidents happen. And you shouldn't have to worry about splashing your phone when you're doing the washing up or taking calls in the rain. That's why the Moto G Play has a water-repellent nano-coating to protect your phone inside and out.

Make it your own

Match your phone's cover to your outfit, or switch it up to take you from day to night. You can get hold of back covers in six vibrant colours, so you'll never get bored of your look.

Store your photos, videos and apps

No more frantically deleting apps so you can take another photo or video. With 16GB internal storage, the Moto G Play has plenty of room for everything. Even if you're a selfie addict and can't bear to part with any of your snaps, you can always pop in a micro SD card for even more storage.

GSM Arena states that the 16GB version has 2GB RAM?

Not a bad price, but people should remember the Moto G4 Play is a cut down version on the normal G4.

For example it has the Snapdragon 410 processor where the G4 has the Snapdragon 615. The camera is also downgraded from 13 to 8 megapixels, and the screen cut from 1080p to 720p.

I can't see anywhere in the O2 guff that says it has 2 GB RAM, as there is a 1GB version of the Moto G4 Play.

Check Wikipedia for a table that compares the 3 versions of the Moto G4.

my wife has the G4 and my son has the G4 play.
The G4 Play is not a bad little phone, but not as sharp as the G4, but at price it's pretty decent, considering the G4 is 40-60 quid more expensive

Would this play pokemon go fine?

If confirmed as having 2GB RAM then yes, but I have had a look around and it really is hard to tell.

If it was 2GB Ram version, they wouldn't have kept it for themselves.

They do not mention RAM in their full specifications so it is hard to know. Most casual smartphone users could not care less how much RAM a phone has. For years Laptops have been quoting RAM as a specification but most people have no idea what it does or what it means, just that more RAM = more good.

There is only one version of the Moto G4 Play sold in the UK, and it has 1GB RAM, not 2GB. It doesn't matter which retailer to network it is purchased from. Everywhere else in the world gets the 2GB model.

However, the UK version is the only one with NFC built in.
