tha is for that....

this doesn't say if its 2gb or 3gb but most likely its 2gb ram

2gb ram from specs I am reading 3gb is in the 32gb version. So what price is that?

So is it 2GB or 3GB ?

amazon are the only UK store to stock the 3GB RAM edition

Is it sim free or locked to 02

It is the 2Gb model and should be unlocked to any network. I previously bought a moto g3 from o2 and that was unlocked.

Presumably bought before Lenovo took over then? My G4 was only usable for 3 months and Motorola refused to give me a refund, even after 2 failed 'repairs'.

It looks like your phone froze in 2015...

this or the moto G4 for a £145 with 2 year warranty from John Lewis
which would be better for a school kid?

G4 is 5.5", G5 is 5". for kids smaller is better.

£180 will get you an unlocked, 3GB version.
At that price point there is really nothing to rival it.

How does this phone compare to the Xperia XA that's on for £129.99 at Carphone warehouse?

Even if you just make calls and send texts with it? Maybe a little internet browsing thrown in?
Just wondering...

If it is sim free. That's my little girls first new phone.

I find 2gb on the G4 perfectly fine, though I don't leave loads of apps/games running in the background.

The original MotoGs are built like tanks - I also bought my 1st one in 2011 & family have had 5-6 of them.

But I wouldnt touch these new Lenovo made ones. Motorola in name only kid

You are buying from O2 Pay as you go webpage- of course it is locked to o2 and comes with o2 sim card- how could it be "sim free"? Sometimes they sell refurbs unlocked already, but usually even those are locked to o2 ( you still can use their locked phones with GiffGaff or Tesco Mobile sim)

Snapdragon v mediatech no contest have abandoned Sony mediatech processors lag and then go quick makes me go queasy when using. I'll never buy a mediatech processor phone again bye bye sony

If you have a friend on O2 contract they can get you a free unlock.

Or alternatively take out a basic 30 day sim only. That'll qualify you for a free unlock. You then have 14 days cooling off period to cancel for a full refund.

Aghh wish they would release another <5" phone. Stuck with Sony compacts until another company steps up.

Unlock on ebay for under £2, takes a couple of hours

I see what your saying raggedy. If I was only wanting text and browsing little you say, I'd expect to pay no more than £100. I picked up the Huawei P9 Lite just before Christmas for £140 and the Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus at £150 was available only a few weeks ago. Both these phones have 3GB of RAM.

2GB RAM will be fine for now but down the line, it will be an issue, (and be the excuse they give for not updating it.)

On what basis do you make your 'wouldn't touch these new Lenovo made ones' comment.

when my note 4 dies this is my next phone

Is this better than the Xperia xa? They seem on par on paper. I think I'd prefer the Moto OS though being less bloated than Sony's

Do these also come with the O2 software on them as well (as well as saying O2 on start up screen)?

Do we have to buy top up??

What a let down the moto g has become since Lenovo took over the brand

Having said that, I have been eyeing up the Lenovo P2. Looks pretty impressive for the dough.

This or the p2

Funny enough that's the latest phone I am eyeing up lenovo p2 on pay-as-you-go at 3 for £210. Want to see in person. It's looking like that or pay the extra for Moto Z. (need that time machine for the phone and speaker package offer) Just dreading buying and days later an amazing offer on the Moto Z hits.

This or the p2

It's quite a big jump in price to be fair. The spec comparison on the P2 is below. £70 extra for a better screen, bigger battery, faster processor, faster wifi, 32gb memory 4gb ram. It's due an update to android 7 from April. Has some bugs maybe they will fix with update. I dropped a new phone 3 days in just before my case arrived and my insurance has credited me £145 so considering options. Am on an older Moto play and really want an upgrade

On the basis we bought 2 & returned 2. Felt cheaper unlike the earlier models that had a real premium feel to them despite their lower prices etc

To all you tech experts is this better than a samsung galaxy A3 2016 plz?

I had a motor G original but didn't like the newer large screens bit this is a 5" so ok.
