If you have a Time Machine, you should have bought it from currys on ebay with the 20% code.

At least they replaced it for you. Samsung has refused to honor their warranty in fixing my phone's motherboard failure and blamed it on physical damage which is not the case. I am not buying any product manufactured by Samsung ever again and have actually been enjoying my Moto replacement since.
Have the G4 plus. Excellent phone. This one should be no differentt (have an iphone , dreadful phone, owning one is just phone snobbery). This phone should prove an excellent phone and the battery will still be going strong long after your mates iphone has died

I would be very wary about getting a Motorola phone if you like receiving android and security updates.

No issues with motorola. Good quality phones.
Great phone, I got dual SIM version from Amazon just before Christmas....£18 less

how come the upgrade page doesn't work? I have a moto g 2 from 2014, I want to keep my number, my sim is a micro, I need a nano, I wanted to keep my number.

do I have to buy the £10 top up and get a nano sim?.

_ I want the g5 phone x

Redmi 4x for £100 ish on eBay from irish / UK seller.

well it says I need to go instore to pick up a new sim and talk to the person there. things never ever work for me when I try to spend over £100 lol websites never work, or pages are down.
Hey, I own this since its release. Great capable phone... Price has not dropped too much since. A good barometer. Android was updated and Oreo is scheduled. Great camera. Great battery and chip combo, makes it fast and long battery. On the heavy side but I prefer it. Great phone. I do not expect to update for the next 18 months at least...
looks like a good deal - I can't decide between this or £250 for the Moto X4 though!
Trust me though it wasn't as simple as just getting it replaced. The 2nd time I had to argue with them on the phone for them to even accept it was a fault. Then it took 58 days from sending the phone to them to receiving it back. Absolute joke of a company.

Moto G5 from Amazon hasn't had a security update since January 2017.
Very good phones crippled by Lenovo never updating the software on any of their devices. That includes lack of simple security updates too.

You can’t even get decent custom rom support anymore as developers have abandoned Motorola.

Samsung's a greedy company, wont fix or admit fault. they've lost my custom also, and im looking at Moto now

Had same with my G4 got money back from amazon bought a g5 and that factory reset every time power ran out, got a replacement g5 which has been ok but never again
Never touch these again. Had a G4 and the camera went all ghost within a month. Poor, cheap product. Xiaomi Note 4 far superior.
I've just been playing Bloons5 on my Moto, the 3Gb of RAM really makes a difference on the tough levels. Heat from me, good phone, good price.
This or the Nokia 6?
Is this the one with the 4K video?

My Moto G4Plus has an update from 1st March 2017, you'd think the G5 would be more up to date!

This has better camera, better processor and better on battery.

Nokia will get more updates tho.

Wish I'd have bought direct from Amazon. Made the mistake from buying direct from moto though. Will never make that mistake again though.

Not sure re camera - installed latest Pixel camera APK with Portrait Mode on the Nokia 6 and it is giving me some cracking photos. Not sure if the same APK works on the Moto (or works as well). Consider also that the Nokia has stereo speakers and is still a fair bit cheaper (not to mention running Oreo).

I'm really quite happy with it, although for under £200 it's hard to go wrong with either. Personally I think the Nokia 6 looks and feels a lot nicer too, though I guess that's subjective.
Are these definetly unlocked or is it better to go with the SIM free one for £10 more?

If you have a Time Machine, you should have bought the G5 from O2 for £89.99 and less than £2 to get it unlocked on ebay.
G5 Plus was never 89.99
My mum's G4 suffered with the ghost touch issue one week after the warranty ran out. I also had issue's with my Huawei phone so made me a bit weary of cheap Chinese phone's. Xiaomi has never let me down however.
This or the G5S Plus for 240 from John Lewis?
Does anyone know if there is there much noticeable difference in performance between this and the G5S which has a different processor, but is Dual Sim and back down to £179 at John Lewis?

I would prefer the best model, and possibly dual sim too, but not prepared to sacrifice speed, or pay a lot more for dual sim.

Has anyone seen any good deals (that I don't need a time machine for! ) on the dual sim version of G5 Plus?

Thanks!

Same issue here. No more Shamesung.
Great phone. Bought Moto G5 Plus on eBay for £163 and got Nectar points x8. Real dual SIM (2 SIM cards + SD micro card = triple cards:). Perfect size 5.2", great battery, quick charge, no lugs, very good camera, absolutely fantastic video 4K. Had an opportunity to compare with Samsung S7 Edge and must say I'm very impressed with Moto 5G Plus. Samsung has better screen....and that's it.. and it's cost 3 times more

bought my g5+ just before christmas for £200 at cpw and must say i'm impressed by it's everything (though GPS can be tetchy especially with hotspot on) - read a lot of reviews as i love the moto g range and most said that the g5/g5s are actually outdone by nokia 5/6, wileyfox and a couple of chinese phones with the same or better chips and ram. not that i use it but nice seeing nfc on a budget moto at last and the fingerprint scanner/gesture controls do become second nature, it is a very premium feeling phone. never really put camera through it's paces yet but it certainly focusses better in low light or with flash than the g3. quick charge (with included charger) is great too though battery lasts for ages.

don't quite trust better specced chinese phones for support (this is confirmed for android 8 but no news when) so happy with my purchase but i've no doubt the g5/g5s or verious 3gb ram android phones for sub-£150 are close
