Decent deals but what drug induced meeting did Lenovo think that it was a sensible idea to create so many variations of a budget phone? Is it really worth making the C and Cplus, the E4 and E4plus, the G5, the G5S and G5S Plus.

Utterly insane, they just need to make a decent Moto G (with compass and NFC) and then Moto X and Moto Z and leave it at that. And while I'm whingeing, they need to stop making all the phones look the same bland design, I miss those wonderful Moto maker options.... who doesn't love a bamboo or leather or such like phone!?

o2 had much better prices for black friday. Moto C (really bad screen, like the first camera phones) for £39 and moto G5 for £89 (+£10 topup I believe). So not that great an offer.

Yep - got a Moto G5 for £89.99 (no top required) during the Black Friday offer for my mother. Waiting for the price to return to this level to buy another!

Think everything was cheaper Black Friday tbh

However its February now so these are best prices on these Motorola phones at the moment

btw Has anyone got the Moto C Plus - 2gb ram and a nice big battery for £79 is fairly tempting! - Only 2gb ram at Motorola btw
Got the g5s when this offer was up about 2 weeks ago. Phone arrived from China within a week. All good so far, very nice phone

Where does it say the C Plus model they are selling for £ 79 has 2gb ram ? Have you spoken with them and confirmed? I can only see 1gb/2gb in specification and you have to assume worst case scenario for £79

Yeah you're right, when you order the item it doesn't state if 1 or 2GB ram.... no option to buy one or the other type. Their site is always poor with options like dual sim listed but not clear if you actually will get that option.
They were great phones when they first came out for less than a ton.
I have emailed them to ask about dual sim on the g5s as that's a deal breaker for me. Looks like it has nfc as well.

I emailed them last time around and they insisted it was dual sim. In the end I opted for the Mi A1.

Thank you for contacting Moto & Lenovo customer support.

Thank you for your interest in Moto G5s. I understand that you would like to know whether the G5s sold on our website is single or dual sim version. I am glad to help you with that.

Please be rest assured that you will receive a dual sim version of Moto G5s if you order on our website. You can go ahead and place and order and you will receive dual sim phone.

Hope the above information helps.

"crazy prices"? You really have a very low threshold....
Just read lots of reviews saying the g5s doesn't have a compass... Could make google maps directions a bit difficult

What is the point of this post? This site is for the best deals to be had today. None of us has time machines so what was best in the past is irrelevant.

My G4S doesn't have a compass, it is only an issue if you stationary, as soon as you start driving/walking it works fine.

The point is the prices for the C and G5 are not near a hot deal and is standard pricing for those. The G5S is probably the deal here but not the others.

My G5 Plus is useless for tracking runs etc, the GPS is all over the place most of the time. Compass isn't necessary on a phone with good GPS lock. My G5 Plus is much worse than one of my old Mediatek chipset Chinese phones, and that's saying something. On the plus side it has improved my run distance-to-time ratio no end

Edit, most of these are oos now :-(

A compass is most important if you're walking in a city and use google maps to foot navigate. The lack of compass means GPS is used only which in built up areas can be unreliable and also the arrow pointing the way to go does not work (the arrow points in one direction regardless of the direction you walk) - it is usable but you'll often find you walk 100feet then the map flips and tells you to go back the way you came. Having a 25pence compass built into a phone makes a huge difference and is the one big pain in the arse with all Moto C, E and G phones.

I have a G5S from Argos and it is superb even the camera. The build is solid and performance for a Snapdragon 430 is smooth and very fluid. Am surprised they have optimised the software very well

When is that next Black Friday ?. If you can wait until then do so. All I can say is that there are 4 different version Motorola phones in this house and 2 crappy iphones. The Motorolas are absolutely fantastic value for money with a really decent battery life. The camera on the older Moto G 2nd gen takes fantastic photos. Our G4 plus is amazing. Review here trustedreviews.com/rev…lus . If people want to whinge let them. These are some of the best budget phones out there. G5S plus review here techadvisor.co.uk/rev…88/
How long have those codes been active? I bought a g5s two weeks ago, I'm going to try my luck and claim this back if I can. Thanks to anyone who can help
I missed out on this.. but it's the same price (more or less) at CCL:

Has anyone managed to get a memory card to work in the G5? I have an English G5, and bought a Sandisk 128Gb class 10 A1 Card. I have formatted it in the phone and it's reported as corrupt. It's a common problem on the G5 and the G5S.
I'm hoping the Oreo update due soon will fix it. I've looked all over different forums for an answer, but have been unable to find one so far! Can anyone help?
