UPDATE: Credit to Pateo.

Go Via TopCashBack. And you could get £25 cashback. Got to be worth a try.

________________________________________________
We're back with another of these Carphone Warehouse SIM Free phone bundled with a SIM Only contract.

Here you can get the Moto G7 Power for £89.99. Get your phone, call O2 and cancel the SIM contract.

Since the last deal I posted, there have been none of these 12 month bundles but it looks like either one has slipped through the net or they're trying it out again.

Please read through many of the success stories last time I posted one of these and please keep the abuse to a minimum. Last time it got a bit silly.

hotukdeals.com/dea…102

I am aware that CPW have put a disclaimer at the bottom of the page. This was inserted after a few days of my last phone deal. If you scroll though the pages of that deal, you will see it discussed. As far as I know, people who got their phone after that text was inserted have not heard back from them. The general consensus is that is was inserted as a deterrent, but just bare in mind that there may be that risk involved now.

Black Only Online. You may find that stores have the violet one in stock.

What problems? I got my daughter one of these a month ago (at full price ). It seems like a great bit of kit. And even with her monster usage - she's never off it - the battery life is unreal.

Agreed, I did one of these and now I've had my house repossessed and can't even open a bank account unless it's a kid's one with a top up debit card and I'm eating beans straight out the tin with a stick

Oh wait, none of that's true, there's no significant "hit" unless you are applying for stuff every time the sun flies past....

Definitely worth the £90 tag. Absolute beast of a phone for the price. Hopefully this one has 2 Sims and an SD card comparability

Nah I'd probably pay the extra £50 to avoid all complications with cancelling absim

One had "ghost touch" where it would act like the screen was being tapped over and over, the next was resetting itself all the time - wasn't on this model but it's made me wary of trusting any moto phones

Don’t understand - are you saying that cancelling a sim if you change your mind affects your credit rating

O2 were amazing last time. I got three of them and each time, no questions asked. They didn't even know about the phone, every time. Plenty of others had similar experiences.
True, this is a great phone if you can get the one with dual Sims and SD card slot. Bought mine from Moto direct but had to send for repair when mine wouldn't update to the latest SW version. But it's all fixed now and it's a beast of a phone. No lags and battery is the best I've had so far. I charge after 2 days, at 20% battery and im a heavy user. It's great for travelling especially where you need satnav etc and want a phone where you are guaranteed a good battery when you are in a strange country etc. Worth a punt imo.

Good battery is vital in a 'strange country'

Not really, a lot of people have benefited, nothing dodgy about this, it's just a type of glitch if you look at it from another angle

Each to their own.

I don't see why it would be banned as you're not doing anything wrong. It's not a phone on a contract. It's a phone, bundled with a SIM. If you just pick up a SIM, you're well within your rights to call up and cancel it within the first 28 days.
Seems like the CPW deal is single SIM. Ok if you have no need for a second SIM. I keep other SIM slot open for foreign SIMs when I'm abroad or on my speedster adventures.😜

Why?If it's allowed under the terms and conditions of O2/cpw I don't see how anyone is getting hurt. As long as it's not illegal, dodgy or puts the companies at a loss, I don't see this as a problem imo.

Yeah I've experienced the ghost touch thing in the past too. I also experience problems with the vibration motor on my G6 Plus. Sometimes it just gets incredibly weak for no reason then comes back to normal after a while.
Not worth the hassle for me personally. O2 are an absolute pain to deal with. Rang up and cancelled and was promised they had cancelled the contract even got them to email me a confirmation. Then noticed they had prepared my first bill. Contacted them again they apologised and said they would put a credit on my account to cover the debit they wanted to take, again got an email confirmation of this.

You probably know what is coming next. Yep the money came out of my bank. Contacted them again told they would refund. Two weeks later still hadn't received the refund so had to contact them again. All in all I probably spent 3 or 4 hours on the phone and on the online chat answering the same questions over and over again.

If you are going to do this keep a record of everything and contact them via online chat and get a transcript of the chat.

I had this - went to bank, showed them the cancellation, they refunded me under the direct debit guarantee and blocked any more payments. 15 mins and done.

You've been really unlucky there, and sorry for you having to go through that. The majority of people that have done this have said that O2 were very accommodating and have been when I've had to contact them.

I have had to do this in the past. The problem then was that they still charged me and then went on to mark my credit file with a missed payment. Took forever to resolve. Credit rating ruined whilst waiting for everything to be resolved. Hours of my time was wasted for not much benefit. I wouldn't want this much hassle for a cheapish phone like this. I would probably risk it for something like an s10+ or P30 pro etc. But that is just me. Others may think differently.

Bet that was the G4? I had that problem, and it happened when the screen was bright. It really put me off Lenovo for a while but I still purchased a G7 Power based on the good reviews.

So far, so good. The battery life is incredible.

Haha, I don't mind people being sceptical. At least it's not like last time when I took three pages of abuse until someone confirmed it had worked.

There's people around who can't afford more than £100 for a new phone. This just gives them the opportunity to have a really decent one.

O2 were accommodating and they didn't question my right to cancel it is just they were very disorganised. personally I didn't think it was worth the amount of time I spent to get the saving but that will be different for different people. Still a great price.
I've just noticed that by clicking the deal, it takes you to the full list of available deals. On the left hand side, expand the "Contact Length" tab and select 12 months. This deal should then be top of the list.

It's not a contract phone. It's a SIM Free phone and a SIM Only bundle.

If you call O2 within 28 days and cancel the SIM that the phone is bundled with, it gets cancelled. If you call them straight away, you don't even have to pay for the first month of it.

The phones at CPW that are contract phones have a 24 month contract.
ah okay, thanks for the info

You do understand that you took out basically 3 forms of credit and paid it straight away . Probably the worse thing you can do , let’s hope you are not applying for a mortgage anytime soon
