Not true
All phones (except iPhone) are unlocked from CPW and staying unlocked no matter what card you put in
I've said this to other people, but at this price, the phone is a steal more than ever before. If mobile payments isn't a biggie and you want a good phone and don't want to spend much. It's a major go!
This version does not have NFC

Will repeat my post on this thread as the other has been expired:

How does this compare against the Redmi Note 5 for photo quality?
Decent price.

Is this the cheapest 4GB branded phone available from Highstreet shop

Note 5 is at Argos for £100.

The note 6 pro is the same phone but with a notch and 2nd front camera . Currently £144 at ebuyer but often goes down to £125 or less

Girlfriend has this phone, aside from lack of NFC can't knock it really.. screen is big and not noticeably "bad" at 720p, good camera and huge ass battery. Would be my go to if weren't for NFC missing.

Naa we just tell customers that so they buy it at the unlocked sim free price and we get more commission for selling it.

If that is a true reflection of CPW staff no wonder people buy from Chinese sites.

as an aside I have experienced CPW telling blatant lies in the past.

Any chance to skip top-up or just transfer this money to google play store? I need to buy 2 phones for my parents. Thanks.
It's a massive phone this but with a good processor and 4gb it's great value now. Just check the size before buying!
720p screen kills it for me.
Mega heat for this if you are looking for superb battery life.
I have actually been using this as a daily driver the last week and man i'm impressed. No performance issues at all, the battery is insane and the camera servicable. I love motos take on stock, and the 720p screen seems fine to me. Have missed NFC, mind
Be warned that the battery on this phone is ridiculous and will be a culture shock to many that you will only need to charge it every 2 or 3 days!

I also think the screen is great considering the resolution

Maybe it's because selling it with a SIM card that's never used means the company get clawbacks so lose money on the handset hence prices going up .
Wow! I've had this phone a month, love it. The first charge lasted 3 days with normal use, the screen is entirely fine & it comes with a case included that adds barely any bulk.

You be amazed it isn't like a 720p screen of the past.
I can't notice any difference between a 1080p screen than this and I reckoned I would after buying one.
Anyone else having issues getting on their website? It seems to be down...

Yeah saw today CPW profits down 22%. Maybe something to do with poor customer service...
Purchased this phone for 179 so this is a good deal. Couple of issues. The gps is not great. I used it in london couple of times and it was really inaccurate kept reporting me in a different street in google maps. Also the antenna isnt great and in areas further out from masts you will struggle tonget a signal where others phones will be working fine. Having said that this is a great price for a good phone.

I have some but not a great deal of sympathy for you and your colleagues. Sympathy because the incentives at CPW are totally screwed up and encourage lying and misinformation at the consumers detriment. Who wants to lie for a living? It's crap all round but everyone needs money bottom line.

But obviously once the brand is tainted, more people abandon it and eventually financial struggles happen anyway but on a company wide level. Bad management from the top IMO.
No NFC
My girlfriend got this phone a few months ago from CPW and the guy working there was just terrible. Literally interrogating her about getting the insurance, questioning all her choices to not go for it, or buy a new sim plan there in the store. Very weird. Next time I think she will just go Amazon to avoid terrible employees trying to bleed you dry.

To be fair, it's unlikely to be the employee that is the problem. Rather, the commission structure imposed upon them by the upper management combined with a poor basic pay means that they have to be less scrupulous.

Actually it isn't. CPW got fined for the insurance side. I used to work there 6 years ago and I know friends who still do and now if a customer says no to insurance, its a no and no more questions should be asked.

Yup. My GF was like no, thanks and he was like "well, why not?" and just stared at her.
Bloody htc u ultra just got into a boot reset and won’t come out, no matter what I do.
Looks like I’m popping into CPW for one of these.
