I believe this is the rrp launch price is it not? Also the power version is a lower spec than the G7 and G7 plus (720 screen opposed to 1080 but bigger battery).

It is the launch price but with a 2 year warranty. It is indeed lower spec than the others in the range but also far cheaper. You’ll struggle to find a better phone for £179.
has amazon price gone up? I don't see that price anymore. Had some amazon vouchers which would have worked better for me than going the john lewis way

Looks like it’s now unavailable on Amazon. It was available to pre-order. Only 1 year direct Motorola warranty through Amazon too.
ram is 4gb
don't no why high and mid phones can't have higger battery
This is great if you want to use it as a cycle computer!

Bigger battery usually means thicker. At one point it was a race to the thinnest. We can only hope.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro 4GB / 64GB ROM for exactly that price, from the official Xiaomi store.

I agree, the main thing I liked about the iPhone X was the thicker and heftier feel in the hand compared to past phones. I wonder whether it’s because batteries lasting longer would affect upgrade cycles. For the target audience of this phone, upgrade cycles probably aren’t important to Motorola.

Another phone I was considering. Which would you say is better? Only thing that puts me off Xiaomi is the lack of NFC (something I use a lot).
Does this have compass? Also seen conflicting reports re. NFC.

You'll need to edit it again. You wrote Note 7 and provided link to note 6 :D. I'd also pick redmi over this but Moto would have a better battery life, NFC, usb type -C and clean android which might sway it the other way for some ppl.

That's the main thing that Xiaomi lacks, because the Chinese tend to use QR codes for payment instead of NFC. If NFC is important, go for the Moto.

well my phone is A s7 , but i double the size with a cover so it don't smash, i think phones need praclility, there been using all day in the outside
I don't see 'NFC' mentioned in the sales details.
Lenovo says it's support is 'regional'.
Does anyone know if John Lewis or Carphone WH is selling the 'NFC' version?

The UK version supports NFC

Motorola.co.uk has this with regards to NFC. The US version is different and has 3gb instead of 4gb. I believe NFC are not used in the US.

The Lenovo website says the UK version does not have NFC. Hopefully someone who has the phone can confirm
Where does it say that?
On that link, under Connectivity, for NFC it says "Yes" and "No".

Which is very helpful
Yeah NFC information on this one is all over the place. I don't know how it's such a confusion, wish Motorola would be clear about it. Looks like the only way to know is from an owner
OOS
The is an asterisk next to YES. At the bottom it explains you need a relevant app for NFC payments. I’m fairly confident it has it.
Been into CPW this morning and tried out display version. This phone does NOT have NFC. Very misleading.
So many variants does make this confusing!
On the official Lenovo website the UK version of the G7 Power does not have NFC unfortunately. However, it is dual sim and comes with 2 year guarantee from them directly
think a lot of people going to send there phone back it as no nfc
so Motorola / Lenovo mislead people again

Received today from john lewis .. No Nfc on this i can confirm .. going straight back .. lol

Got mine. Other than NFC it's still a cracking phone. Slightly miffed at the press releases, would love to know what region DOES support NFC?
xda-developers.com/mot…cs/

Here's the different G7 Power versions. My CPW version was a XT1955-4, so no NFC.

Has anyone got an XT1955-7?
really Motorola should reprice phones with no nfc
Motorola going to lose money as there be a lot of people returning phones
Apart from not having NFC, I've never seen this in stock at JL. It is in stock @ Amazon now though.
What about compass?
