I was reading up on the G6 Play having a compass in the EU model but not …I was reading up on the G6 Play having a compass in the EU model but not the UK model. Hopefully it's not the same situation and we have it here too this time.

GMS arena says the compass is market dependent, the lack of compass has put me off Moto G phones since I had the G4+ and found the lack a real pain when in a city using the sat nav to walk around (and spend much wasted time going the wrong way as GPS alone is not good enough for walking)

I know it's all about saving money but don't get why some markets get the compass and some don't...very odd,.surely it's cheaper to make one phone for an entire region rather than multiple model variants.

I deserted Moto and got a Xiaomi note 5 - never thought I'd do that but the phone is superior in most respects to the Moto equivlients, sadly.

270 PPI is quite low. I guess it will further help it's endurance. We need another Lenovo P2.

Yeah maybe they get a perverse satisfaction knowing we're walking around in circles

I think those days of pocket friendly screens are behind us sadly.

It's crazy because there must be a market for them.

I was going to joke that soon we'll be going back to the days of people have holsters for their phones but it is already a thing!

See that is what I want, I love smaller phones, but have now grown accustom to my S8's screen size, I tried to use the Mrs iPhone SE the other day, something i swore by for 2 years and I just cannot its toooo small. so If this sort of stuff is for real, then I am buying into it, looking forward to see what Samsung announces later this month.

They're both part of the G7 family, so I can only assume they'll have similar optimizations. The Power should beat it, by a lot.

From my initial thoughts, Samsung is going with a full size phone to a tablet size... Which i dont think anyone be happy abt, if lenovo actually release a phone like above... Win win
The UK version does NOT have compass or NFC

The 3200mah battery in my mix 3 goes on forever, so the optimisations in miui are the best I've ever seen, my pixel 2 xl (3520mah) had way worse battery life than this, and that is vanilla android.

I was so close to buying it at £450. It looks so damn good. The battery size did put me off, so thanks for posting that

Look on all my mix 3 postings, everyone has said the same, it is like some kind of wizardry.
Nice to see phones appearing with this size battery now, hopefully it will drive others to do the same. Will see what feedback this model has at launch for actual time usage

Yes but it has an apple on the back so people wouldn't care. This is different

Yes very true, the best thing I find in my Mate 20 over my S9 is battery life. S9 does not last one day while Mate 20 lasts nearly 2 days on full charge. I certainly recommend big batteries. Very painful when battery dies middle of journey and need to carry extra battery pack and wire everywhere.

Negligible really. The pixel 3 XL from what I've read and seen doesn't have the best battery life either, and that has the sd845

Pixel 3 is a mess battery to the screen ratio, and that tiny notch xd but some folks will pick it for the camera

No NFC on this model.

According to nfcworld (whoever the hell they are): The UK-spec Motorola Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus and Moto G7 Power all come with NFC, though the Moto G7 Play does not.

From what I've read the US version doesn't have NFC.

I take that back. It specifically says on the GB lenovo product page that this doesn't have NFC. Sorry about any confusion.
The G7 plus has NFC. Phew. That's the version I'll be going for as long as it has a compass.

iPhone XR for £650-£700 !!!!!
You can buy it for £141.74 through perks at work. Just checked. You get automatically 10% off plus 15x wow points. You pay £161.99 after discount and than you claim £20.25 back for your wow points. This offer ends at midnight though.

Honestly, this is a useless poor phone with a battery bank. Easier to buy an external battery and a phone separately. 😏

Will the P3 ever get released?! I doubt it with how long everyone has waited now.
Is nfc region specific? Seen few people mention that it does have it but this one is listed as no is it something to do with this being dual sim variant?
Ugly phone
Buy a Huawei or Reshmi

I'd rather have a 720p screen than the Snapdragon 425 in the G6 Play, …I'd rather have a 720p screen than the Snapdragon 425 in the G6 Play, having said that, I hate stutter in a phone, and so the sd632 should be a million times better. Like @rev6 said 271ppi is low, but it shouldn't be an everyday issue, just don't use this as a backup to the galaxy note 9

Yeah but what's the point on having a good processor if your screen is rubbish? Are your games going to run smoothly but on low definition? To me it's a nonsense as you'd want power if your idea is to spend time on your phone... If you spend so much time at least treat your eyes properly
I am on Moto for 5 years now, next phone will be a Xiaomi/Redmi, maybe the new Note 7...

The New Motos are expensive for what they are so all hail the new best value overlord: Xiaomi.
The G7 plus is £270 lol! Yup cannot wait the Note 7 international

I don't game. I use my phone for work, and to surf the net etc. The screen is negligible to the eye, so that's my reason.

If I have a slow processor when I'm working, loading apps, skipping through my phone, opening the camera etc. That would annoy me more.
At last. A Moto G with a decent budget processor. Nice battery life too.
Why would they put a 720p screen in it? Stupid.

Disagree, the Moto G5 plus I still own remains the best buy, the Redmi Note 7 will dethrone it.

Yeah, seems an odd choice as such a large battery would still last a long time between charges even with a higher res screen. It does look like they are aiming to top Lenova P2's absurdly long battery life record with this model.
