Motorised space saving Spice Rack £23.95 Delivered - 70% off at housingunits

One for all you gadget fans out there but actually a pretty cool and useful idea.
It is made by a french company Winchef and there seems to be only 1 UK supplier Housingunits.co.uk who normally sell them for £69. Currently they are reduced to £19.95.
I guess they might struggle to sell at the higher price but I think £19.95 is a good price.
There is a delivery charge of £4 but free if over £50. Delivery is next day.
I came across this looking for an efficient way to store spice jars. This is ideal because it can be mounted under a cupboard or under a shelf, and you can still put things below it, so the space it uses is largely dead space.
I have ordered and fitted before posting and can confirm it does what it says. will fit most common jars. I have used
Schwartz
Sainsurys
Morisons
Tesco

Obviously square ones are not going to fit.
Jars come and in and out easily and the carousel moves in both directions and is fast. A little noisy but seems well made. That's it really. There is a video on the housing units site if you want to see it in action.

+++++
Cracking find at this price :-)

It's a neat idea, but it really does look a bit naff.

A bit. That's why I put mine in a cupboard :o)

I need one!

Good if you could fit anything under them!!

And if you fancy sliding all of them out each time to get the one at the end

More proof of the madness which afflicts HUKD voting! No problem with the OP posting this as it appears to suit his needs and has a big reduction from claimed rrp but even £24 for this item, acknowledged by the OP to be 'a bit naff', is far too much.

this is awesome, I don't know why I need one, but I have just bought one, time to declutter the kitchen

Hi op, any chance you could measure and post dimensions? Just in case they exaggerated in the description... I have measured my space and it my depth is around 299/298 mm and the shelf I want to put it under only has clearance for 38mm for the outer edge to hang down...

This is the sort of thing that If I found one in a mates kitchen i'd just have to buy a cheap sex toy & add it to the back of the rack in order for it to pop into view when being demo'd to neighbours... a drip dry d1ldo storage rack as an alternate use perhaps!?

Just realised it takes batteries, damn it, now I have justification that I need a maid

Looks awlful if on display, ok in a cupboard maybe.

Just got one it will not be on show, thanks op this is going to be fantastic for me

I said it looks a bit naff not is a bit naff. but it's bloody useful and in a cup board so I don't care what it looks like. I have worse looking things in cupboards but I am not going to discuss here :o)

depth is 29.7cm
width 34.5cm
front height of the panel is 3.8cm
total height inc grippers is about 5.8cm
total height depends on the size of your spice jars with Schwartz it is 15cm total

Thanks for doing that - I will order based on that, though going to be a tight squeeze!

Annoyingly there seem to be some on the US ebay for less. But with postage, it only works out as £1 cheaper for jumping through the extra hoops.
For those with tight measurements; don't forget that shelves often rest on little plastic (or metal) lugs stuck in the sides. And allow greater (height) space in order to detach the jars!

herbs and spices need to be stored in darkness and away from moisture so under a cupboard isnt a great choice
