Usually available for about a fiver or so!

Thats actually expensive for this phone, as benjimoron said - its usually £5 (if you go through quidco you are sometimes paid to take it!)

Granted this is a bit expensive for that model of phone but surely the ones obtainable for a fiver are locked to specific networks. Sounds like you are paying the premium price because it is any user network.

If anyone out there can tell me who's selling them for a fiver SIM free unlocked then I would certainly have one if only as an emergency spare back-up for the family.

TJ Hughes?

TJ Hughes are, and other online sites have been selling them at that price unlocked

Got one for my 8yr old at Xmas for about £8 and replaced it for a £20 Samsung C300 after a week or two.

Aren't the menus picture based? And surely an 8 year old only needs to use a mobile to make emergency calls to one or two numbers.
Solid proof mobiles fry your brains?

Not a very good phone. It was so bad that I sold mine the next day.

CPW sometimes sell it for £4.95 + £10 topup = £14.95. Again usually unlocked handset.

Plus £5 quidco is a bonus, although mine has still not been validated for a few months (still only tracked).
