It is better to consider Yale or Swann if one is after a CCTV camera, or the use of a dash cam through glass for security as the quality and reliability is probably better.

*****Please read the reviews before buying any product*******
(The Motorola appears to have a few problems in terms of reliability and quality. Just some advice )

Personally, I wouldn't suggest it as the quality may not be great as a CCTV, as such, as the quality of the video etc might not be particularly good. I would invest in a Yale or something else for something like that. You can, but there are quite a few drawbacks for this idea. Hope this helped

You're most welcome I feel for you I think you should get a 1080p camera (or something which has a superior camera quality) and place it in a window, this may give better results for you and extra security to help potentially identify light-fingered pilferers! Have a lovely day!

Also any cameras that use infra red in the dark the infra red does not penitrate glass so you will not really see anything through it it night unless you get seperate infra red light for outside or have a weather proof camera outside.

Thanks for the additional information Much appreciated

You have to pay a subscription to get the auto 15 second videos.
Personally would get one with a built in sd card slot.

You might want to consider a Dashcam, they are designed to be behind a layer for glass, only thing is with dashcams they are not really designed for range more close up stuff.

Do your research people before buying anything of this kind as there are a lot of dreadful complaints about video quality, subscriptions.i once bought one of those outside ptz cameras and had to return next day over lots of problems.i never personally look at Motorola again

Yeah these are not actually Motorola, they are some Chinese company who has rights to the Motorola name to use on cameras.

I have swann and take and the swann I much better quality they have some good offer on Amazon at the moment if not there is a good company called AAA CCTV have some great deals

oops swann and yale

Have one of these. It's great, although I only used it once or twice and will probably end up selling it...heat

I have 2 of these already, looking to buy a 3rd!

Why did you only use it once or twice?

These are good 98% of the time. I have 4 of these to keep an eye on the kids. I wouldnt recommend them as sole CCTV as the Hubble service seems to be intermittent sometimes, though it can then work for weeks without an issue. You do have to pay £2.99pcm (or £29 annually) for the video recording feature but this is sketchy and sometimes doesnt record everything. But it will send you notifications and photos for free. For the price, they are pretty good, but I wouldnt ditch my Swann CCTV in favour. These Hubble cameras just arent up to being a CCTV system. They are great for watching the kids though.

That's a good idea - I've never thought of using a dash cam to watch outside the house through glass (even though I have a dash cam for the car already).

I had a couple of Foscam cameras and although the video quality it fairly good on them their software is rubbish (have an Foscam NVR (network video recorder) and although it's ok viewing directly through you cannot seem to view anything remotely (would have been nice to view recorded video).

If I was to do it all again I'd prob go for a complete Swan camera system with recorder.

Thanks Dragon32 so any swann 1080p Wi-Fi cam would be good through glass ?

Hiya,
I have sifted through many pages of cameras, but to no avail could I find one which is particularly good. I recommend you to look at this link to find one which is suited for you. It is personal taste and what you require. Hope you find it helpful
