Dual SIM version, was £199 from John Lewis, then £179 and now down to £139. I prefer this to the new G7 Power which lacks NFC.

Really tempted. I have a Z2 play, which works fine but they seem to have discontinued the mods which was the main attraction of the Z range.
Be warned had mine about 6 months now and the battery is crap now...over night it dies by 25% and before anyone says yes it gets run flat switched off and charged fully for good few hours but still the same. I have battery saver on all time now or it does not last a day

That's the least of the problems I've had with the g6. By far the worst phone I've ever owned.
O have this phone no problems at all great camera
If only they had given us a Lenovo p3, I have the p2 with a 5100mah battery, excellent speakers and NFC etc, I just can not find anything to upgrade to as my p2 has amazing battery life and very good specs even though 3 years old now and still going strong I know I will need to upgrade soon though.

I have the same phone just the internal mic has died, just tried swapping it but not working. The Secondary mic works fine though but calls through loud speaker are not private lol. Battery life is brilliant, last 3 days without a charge. If only they supported android updates it would still sell now.

I own the G6 Plus and I have had nothing but problems with it. Just check out the forums. Lenovo/Motorola never issue bug fixes even though the g6's are riddled with issues. They are also incredible slow at releasing any security patches. I definitely wont be buying another moto any time soon.

So not this phone then.

Care to actually mention what these are so we can make an informed decision?

Battery life is terrible, WiFi keeps disconnecting, lag.
Got one for me mum too and that failed within 4 months.

They released a half baked version of Pie riddled with bugs. WiFi disconnects constantly, random vibrates with no notification (known bug). Extreme lag where the only solution to fix it is to disable services and/or replace the home launcher. I'm currently using nova launcher as the Moto pie one was so bad.
Before the pie update I was excited at the prospect of upgrading to the g7, but their forum seems to be same. Moto say they have submitted bug reports but in the 12 months I've had this phone I've not once seen a bug fix release, just occasional Google fixes which then I've only ever had 2 or 3.
Really good phone - I paid £199 from JL last Summer - runs Android Pie 9 just fine (battery does need charging every night, naturally some users will have issues with devices but personally this is the best phone I have owned for quite some time. The screen is not perfect in bright sunlight - but in the main it is fine.

At this price it is a true bargain - the screen is incredibly tough. Great screen size for Netflix or Prime Video.

Build quality is excellent - stick a hard case on the back

Terrible phone. Since the android pie update it is full of bugs. Half my apps don't work over WiFi. Have to switch to 4g. Security patch is still on January with no sign of updates. I would steer clear.
I've been using this phone for a year now. When I answer the call, the person who calls me doesn't hear my "hello". It's OK after 3 seconds. After the latest system update it slowed down by 50% so be warned. Other than that, I like it.
I just got the G7 last week they are simmilar except faster CPU and bigger display The G7 has 64gb/4gb, good price though they still sell on eBay more

What is the price difference? Compared to £139.99 for G6 (dual SIM model) from John Lewis with 2-year guarantee.
199 from Amazon, the G6 was 179 when I got mine, although that's for the Amazon 64 gig one

Good if G7 is worth £60 more for you. And current price of G7 is £219 at Amazon, that is £80 more than G6 from John Lewis with two-year guarantee.

It's gone back up then. the latest Android brings new support for the notch displays trying to follow flagship models I guess
Such mixed reviews for this phone; love the NFC, can't understand why not on a G7.

Thanks - I got a bit mixed up over the NFC content of the various G7s.
