Ok, this is not a new deal but £60 for a half decent mobile, 200 minutes a month (xnet) for 18 months AND free broadband cannot be ignored. It's a little complicated so here are the important links :-

Orange 18 month Canary contract (200 mins + 75 texts **)
buymobilephones.net/sto…tml
As well as the Motorola L6 the Samsung X660 is also £60

The other Orange 18 month contract to look at is Racoon which gives 200 mins xnet + 100 mins landline + 0 texts **)

Note that buymobilephones lets you port your existing number through the Web site which is nice.

You must apply for the Orange free 18 month broadband at this link :-
freebb.orange.co.uk/off…htm

And, finally (!), I'm going through the whole process myself starting today so you can see how I get on in my blogg at :-
musicrab.blogspot.com/

** extra 500 texts per month if sign up in July

For a comprehensive list of phones you can get on Orange (18 months) see this link (note this is not my website)

Thanks grumpycrab

18 months too long a period to be tied up for a L6. Free Broadband is incentive though ;-)

Ok - perhaps somebody can tell me what phone might be worth keeping for 18 months ! (nothing special needed - just a reliable phone with good reception).

Thanks

Ian,

there are many.... Take this Motorola RAZR V3 pink for example:

You can get this mobile completely FREE with 12 months Free line rental on a 12 month contract in ORANGE Panther 45 scheme, which gives 400 anytime cross network minutes and 100 texts per month, PLUS 100 minutes of 3G anytime any network calls.

This scheme is eligible for Orange Free broadband (any contract of > £30 / month is eligible). To get a £30 profit, go through Quidco.

So you get loads of x-mins, free texts, free mobile, free broadband and £30 profit.

Where: ]Mobile Outlet

This offer is only a suggestion and there are loads of offers similar to this where one can get all the benefits and make a profit

Edit: Just pointed by Ian that this handset wont get you Free broadband.

It's more of an experiment really. I don't use a mobile much but I have to have one. It has to have good reception, good call quality and be reliable. Don't care about the other "waste of time" features.

As far as broadband is concerned this is the bigger risk. I currently used about 5Gig a month. The Orange (Wanadoo) cap for the free package is 2Gig. Apparently this is flexible. We'll see. The worst that that will happen (apart from it not working at all) is I'll be asked to upgrade to their unlimited package which is £10 per month. This will still result in a reduction of my overall spend by 50%

The T&C on orange talk about them replacing your existing contract with a new one - has anyone had confirmation that this won't invalidate cashbac?

I just phoned orange - thay said that if you phone them within a few days of the contract starting they wont need to start a new contract.

However, ads good as this bargain is, there seem to be just toop many things that can go wrong...

1.the mobile phone vender could go bust

2.orange could withdraw the broadband offer before you get chance to sign up to the free broadband.

3.you may be forced to sign up to a new contract, allowing the vender to not give you the cash back (the person I spoke to didnt seem to know what they were talking about to be honest)

4.orange could deny you the free broad band as you have already had a special offer with the cashback

I know that each of these possibilites is unlikely, £30 a month for 18 months is a lot to gamble. I think Ill leave it a while and see how someone else gets on first - sounds too good to be true so it probably is!

Dave.

i agree no such thing as a free lunch lol

If you go for a cashback offer then you have to contact Orange to get the broadband. They then re-start your acontracts. This means that your cashback is likely to be rendered invalid.
