Beware of the build quality...

androidorigin.com/mot…la/

It's all covered under warranty though

Heat. I own this bad boy, it absolutely blows the other Android smartwatches out of the water. I also find it to be much more attractive and functional than the iWatch (at least going by Apple's presentation).

I went for the black one and installed a Pebble steel band. Best. Combination. Ever.

can confirm. I get similar battery life.

Ouch. Bought this last week for £180.

I've used this with Ambient Mode off (and turning watch off overnight) over 3 days. Battery life is not a problem.

Handy to know. Assume the reverse would work. Got a Pebble Steel for Xmas. Not many straps specifically for it, but seem to be quite a few for the 360. Although I must admit I like the leather one the Steel came with.

As for this ...

Generally less than a day? Never more than 1.5 days? Wow. That's terrible. One of the main reasons I asked for a steel. ICBA charging my watch every day. Once a week with the Steel so far. \o/

That's a nice looking strap - I'm still on the provided leather one but might look at that - look amazing

I do the same and get a few days.

I have 2 say though the charge up time is Rapid...its not like charging a mobile phone....30 mins on charge and its back up to 100%... I would definitely recommend this watch to any one who is thinking about it

Is this worth an upgrade from a Gear 2 Neo? The only thing I really want is a better voice control system - Samsung's is pretty pathetic.

Would I be losing out on any functionality if I paired this with a Note 3 rather than a Motorola phone?

Love the look of that!

does this work with iOS?

If you just want a watch activity tracker, this is pretty good, and a lot cheaper:

I upgraded from the Gear 2, the Moto 360 is so much better, much more customisable and looks a lot nicer. Also, as it runs pure Android Wear, it'll get updates very quickly.

Pretty much all smart watches are like this.

Much smaller battery than a phone/tablet = much faster charging time.

A steel band? Isn't that very noisy?

I'll get me coat.

I used to have a Pebble and now have one of these. This is far better than the Pebble, and I wear it every day. The one thing it does not do well is take dictation - oddly if you tell it to 'send text' to '[name of contact]' it gets all that right - until you actually dictate the text. Then it transcribes the most embarrassingly garbled nonsense and sends it without checking with you that it's correct. Cue frantic stabbing of the Cancel button, not always in time.

But the other night I picked up the watch and told it, 'Set an alarm for 7 a.m.,' and it did precisely that, no sweat. That was cool.

I can confirm reports of long battery life (36 hrs?) with moderate use.

360 V2 inbound

You came from a Pebble and call 36 hours battery life "long"?!?!?

I call that terrible!

Horses for courses. I want long life and limited functionality (notifications mainly - the Bluetooth connection on the Pebble is fantastic! Hardly ever drops and you have go a long way from it before it does). You want it do more and are not so bothered about battery life I guess ...

This does seem like a good price for the 360.

How ia this the best smartwatch out there? Slower processor than the LG G Watch R, and an LCD screen rather than OLED and a smaller battery than most other smartwatches. Not tk mention that retarded looking bit chopped off the bottom.

Asus Zenwatch should be in stock very soon with higher res OLED screen, faster processor, and bigger battery. Seems a no brainer to me, especially as it's supposed to be well priced, too.

That said, this is a decent deal if you have to have the Moto 360. I just wish its specs were up to par with other smartwatches and that it didn't have that stupid bit of wasted chunk off the bottom.

problem is, wearable tech will not go mainstream until Apple release theirs. even if other products are better, wearable tech needs Apple to get on board to make it mainstream.

Things Smartwatch 3 has better than the Moto 360:
- Twice the real world battery life
- Better battery (420mAh vs 320mAh)
- Better waterproofing (IP68 vs IP67)
- Is lighter (45g vs 49g)
- (Soon) has the ability to use ANY standard 24mm watch band with an adapter
- MicroUSB port allowing you to use ADB and charge without a dock
- NFC
- GPS
- WiFi
- A̶m̶b̶i̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶L̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶S̶e̶n̶s̶o̶r̶ (Apparently the Moto 360 has one, oops!)
- Quad core 1.2ghz (vs single core 1.2ghz), thus is more future proof.
- Has a Transflective LED, which:
- - reflects ambient light thus is visible in direct sunlight, no matter how bright
- - is visible with the backlight OFF, as long as there is ambient light.
- - uses vastly less power than the backlit LCD in the 360
- - has better resolution (320x320 vs 320x290)

The Moto 360 has:
- Looks (It's round)
- Wireless charging
- Heartrate sensor

I think saying the Moto 360 "blows other Android smartwatches out of the water" is simply not true.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the Moto 360 is a bad device, you could certainly do a lot worse, and if looks are your priority I'd advise you buy it.

Smartwatch 3 has worse screen, no heartbeat sensor... that is enough to turn me off.

Asus stink for charging £200 for the Zenwatch in UK - its selling for $200 in US which is about £130 - even with VAT etc it should have been no more than £160!

Same probably goes for their newly announced Zenphone 2!!!

But the Smartwatch 3 has a better screen by far, as I explained?

Also I haven't heard great things about the Moto 360 (or in fact any of the Smartwatches) heart rate sensor. If you're buying this for the heart rate sensor you're going to have a bad time. There are plenty of much better heart rate sensors (eg the fitbit) that you can buy.

To give you some idea my friend bought a Moto 360 (for the looks, not the heart rate sensor) but he spent like 30 minutes trying to get it to read a heart beat before giving up, then jokingly sent me a message saying my watch told me I'm dead

It looks massive???

Moto 360: 46mm L x 46mm W x 11.5mm H.

Sony SmartWatch 3: 36mm L x 51mm W x 10mm H.

The Smartwatch 3 is smaller at 18360 cubic mm while the Moto 360 is 24334 cubic mm
The Smartwatch 3 is 1.5mm thinner
The Moto 360 is 10mm wider
The Smartwatch 3 is 5mm taller

In real world terms? You're talking about <10mm. There's practically no real world difference.

You'd think people forgot how to Google.

good deal, please beware its quite low res screen , It annoying to see the pixels especially when you have gotten used to not seeing them

Great price!

Love my Moto 360. I've had it since Christmas and it is a great device. Battery life for me is really good and I get a lot of messages, emails etc... It's off charge from 7am and back on charge at 10pm at which point it is on about 40%. Gets a lot of attention!

lol

10mm in devices that are only 40mm wide/tall/whatever is 25%. That's a fair proportion. And it makes a big difference. I don't like watches over 40mm diameter personally.

And they're both too big for my taste. Pebble Steel is smaller than both ....

(I should add .... I really, REALLY, wanted to like the 360. I was dead set on getting one. Same with the LG Watch R. Both were let downs. Too big. Too short battery life ..... for me. Others like them so go for it ...)

Yea, if you're cool with the downsides of the Pebble (no touchscreen, no colour, etc) then the upsides are really killer (insane battery life and proper waterproofing)
Edited by: "Azelphur" 7th Jan 2015

Expecting a smartwatch to accurately relay your pulse is quite silly. Garmin still use the chest monitor with their watches, and fitness is their bread and butter.

I went for the LG G Watch R in the end due to the fact that the 360's display isn't completely circular.
