Though if you don't min paying a couple of quid to unlock the Tesco mobile one, if you use TD-YWP4 you can get the locked version for £9 less

Found this deal myself when looking and Tesco, bought one for myself and came on here to post as a deal... but you beat me to it!

Bought the 16GB locked one for £139 added a set of pliers to bring it up to £150 then used the £20 off code to bring it down to £130.
Unlock code off eBay will be £1.60 (201016254291) and then re-flash with a stock ROM (forum.xda-developers.com/sho…php?t=2542219).

Not as cheap as it was a week ago, seems Tesco put the price up with the release of new codes. Seems just about the cheapest around though. Unlocking it is very simple too, so looks like an easy way to save a bit of money via that route.

I think everyone should own this phone for 6 months. After which I want to see how many people would spend £400+ on a phone ever again

I added on a slow cooker for £12 and got £20 off with the code for the Tesco locked one, I am on Tesco network so no issues for me... People have been raving about this phone, lets see if it can survive the cooker...

couldn't agree more.. I am using the phone right now.. excellent phone if you are after an android..

honestly.. even the iPhone 5s next to this looks piddly hahaha

only downside is the pic quality.. could be better.. but apps improve it greatly .. I'm soo pleased I bought this phone and not the s4 or iPhone.. saved myself a huge amount of money.. that I can spend elsewhere!

quick tip.. the instruction leaflet.. is so basic its laughable.. Google/YouTube how to use its features .. and you only get a USB charger cable.. but that's not a buggy if u have an adapter plug.. cheap as chips.. don't let that discourage you from buying this phone.. also don't forget to add your clubcard.. and earn the points!

and I'm not sure.. but I think you have a no quibble 14day money back guarantee if your not satisfied.. so have a play about. if u don't like it.. return...

but I truely don't think anyone can be disappointed with this phone.. don't be a sheep and follow the trend flock..

this is an excellent phone that cannot be beat on quality/price

What ? Are you speaking from experience or just hear say ?

I've flashed every Android phone I've ever owned with different ROM's and never had an issue. I bought the wife a TESCO locked Moto G for Christmas and reflashed it before giving it her and she's had no issues with it. The *ONLY* issue with reflashing it would be a warranty return, but in that case |I'd reflash the TESCO rom back on before sending it back!

great tip

Just so people know... the 8gb one is £100 brand new on eBay from Argos with a 12 month warranty.

If you're like me and don't use much space (I have an s4 with 16gb memory and I've never used more than 8gb... even with over 200 songs, 300 full size images and massive applications such as Fifa 14 (1gb+)) then you're better off buying one of those.

Is that one unlocked?

does it have an expandable memory via a sim/micro sim? if not, do you have enough room for piccies and apps etc?

...also don't forget to go through TopCashback (or Quidco) when ordering from TESCO as you'll get another £2.74 cashback on the £130 spend.

Think it is locked to Vodafone, but even so, unlocking it is a few quid. It all comes down to if you think an extra 8gb of memory is worth the £38.

I have flashed different ROMS before (starting with my good 'ole San Francisco). I have the 16GB MOTO G - following the deal last week for £125 and unlocked etc for £1.99. Excellent phone - but the current flavour of Android (and now OTA upgraded to 4.4.2 Kit Kat) is 99.5% free of any Tesco/ Motorola bloat ware that I am yet to find a reason to replace with a stock ROM especially given the warranty issue. What benefit have you found? with previous locked phones I have found a good reason but this one is pretty much stock anyway.

A thread I put together for storage options, if anyone's concerned:

You can't update the memory via the sim card I think you mean SDCard, but either way the answer is no.. its not expandable which is why I went for the 16GB to make sure I had enough memory.

I wouldn't put money on that.

A great phone no doubt about it but no 4G or NFC and to be honest the camera is really poor but at this price point if those things are not important to you then this is an excellent phone

HEAT!!, excellent phone for that price. Got the 8gb version for £100 in December, and can't fault it. Spending £500+ on a phone now just seems a waste of money.

Apart from removing bloatware the other advantage is that you get updates quicker as you don't have to wait for the supplier (TESCO) to test and tinker with it.

When the wifes updated to KitKat she started having issues with the phone silently losing all connection to the network, she had to take it in and out of flight mode to get things working again. It would do this 2 or 3 times a day. Ended up relashing JellyBean back on. Motorola have now released a patch to fix this so I updated her phone on Saturday to the latest over the air update (176.falcon) and it seems to have been stable since then.

As I flashed the wifes straight out of the box I can't comment on how much Tesco bloatware was on it originally.

I agree with your comments but 4G is too expensivefor me at the moment so I'm happy to stay with slow 3G and yes the camera is poor but installing CameraFX or ABetterCamera helps a lot, and to be fair its a phone, if I want to take pictures I use a real camera

I got this phone a week ago and think it is brilliant. I would definitely get the google launcher that is on the nexus 5. Very easy to do, just follow this: forum.xda-developers.com/sho…488.

I initially thought the camera was poor but here are some examples. It's ok for the odd picture. Here are some examples, these are all unprocessed.

Re: 4g... There may be PAYG deals on this, but I'd wager most people using 4g are on a contract, so a SIMO deal like this wouldn't be worth it for those people as they're paying for their premium phones through contract.

NFC: does anyone actually use this? (Genuine question, not flaming!)

Brilliant, an excellent price. I've just ordered one. I didn't have to add anything else, just inserted the code, it reduced to £138 then I used my Tesco Clubcard vouchers which brought it down to £128. I've been hanging my nose over one of these for ages, I bid for a new one on ebay but got out-bid.

Some nice photos there - the beer glass looks nice and sharp.

I bought one of these for my wife and warned her the camera was supposed to be naff as her old phone had a good camera on it. She was very impressed and I was so impressed I bought one myself.

When I bought mine I looked at other shops and they were selling the 8GB for the same price that Tesco were selling the 16GB one for

The times I want to take impromptu pictures I don't often have my real camera with me so a good quality camera is a must, Admittedly the examples posted here are pretty good.
