A 5-inch 720p display adorns the front of the smartphone, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The Snapdragon 410 provides computing power with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 306 GPU inside. You get LTE support, as well as the obligatory Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The smartphone boots the latest Android 5.1.1 too, so no surprises here either.

The primary camera is a 13MP unit, aided by a dual-LED dual-tone flash. On the front, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter.

The Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) measures 142.1 x 72.4 x 11.6mm, though the thickness does go down to 6.1mm towards the edges. It weighs 155g, and Motorola have upped battery capacity to 2,470mAh, compared to the 2,070mAh of the predecessor.

Perhaps what’s most important in terms of hardware, is the IPx7 certification, which makes the handset capable of surviving after being submerged in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes.

£165 for the 2gb / 16gb version.

Motorola have the 8gb model for £179 & £209 for the 16gb

I am holding out for the 2GB version for £160.

Not a French seller, but Amazon. I always got a really good service with them.

5 inches screen is too large. 4.5 is maximum. I have Moto G 4G 1st Gen. and Im happy with it.

That's a fact, size DOES matter..

Like the 16GB version, find the 8GB version just a tadge too small in capacity as the expansion SD card can be a bit flaky.

I presume this is the single SIM version, there is a dual SIM version for some markets

Just chatted with Motorola UK online support. UK model of Moto G 3rd Gen is a single sim variant.

great deal, I paid the £209 from Motorola though as I wanted to use the motomaker to customise and also wanted my warranty with them. I'm happy with the price i paid anyway though. Still may have to pick up one for the other half at this price.

You would have had a warranty with Motorola if you bought elsewhere.

true but I have always been the type of person who likes to buy direct from the manufacturer if possible.

Isn't Motomaker for the Moto X only?

No.

I still think the Oppo 7 is the phone to have based on specs, price and reviews.

Lol I'm currently using the Samsung Mega at 6.3 inches and on the lookout for a 7 inch phone.

So if I buy via amazon.fr and anything goes wrong with amazon still support me?

Exactly! Nobody can claim the ideal size for everyone, if it was 4.5 inches then everyone would be buying phones with 4.5 inch screens and manufacturers wouldn't make anything else. As it stands tho the most popular phones in the Android market have at least a 5 inch screen with many way beyond that don't struggle to sell. The size of the phone is more important than screen size, the thinner the bezel around the screen, the larger the screen can be whilst still being manageable single handedly..

I think most of the reason screen sizes are getting bigger is because they're running out of things to improve and oversell. Bigger now means better with smartphones. It wasn't like that before.

The size of the phone is based on the size of the screen. Until we have zero bezel, a 4.5" display is just about right for one handed usage.

have to agree that 4.5 is just perfect, had phones with 5.0 and 5.5 and they were just too large to be comfortable if you aren't one of those who just stares at your phone all day long.
Currently using 1st gen moto g with cracked screen this seems like a perfect upgrade at least, will just wait a bit more to see how the picture quality is of it.

For you maybe, but not for everyone I have no problems using a HTC One, S6 or Z3 that all have screens 5 inch or bigger single handedly. Only the LG G3 and 4 are a step too far at 5.5...

I second going for the bigger version. Neither 1GB nor 8GB are really comfortable at the moment, and they will be severely limiting in a year.

Try Tesco.

Motorola have taken a step backwards with this one others are catching up with price etc no dual sim either.............. trying to follow the apple way by drip feeding customers with tech..... the one plus+ one would kill this and there is a lot more also better value for the money...

too bad guys who waited thinking it would be be a 1080p screen and s615

Where can I buy the Moto X Play? Anyone please

According to Amazon this has a 2 year warranty with Motorola, quite tempted myself with the Clarity card £163, for the higher spec.

Hmm, weird that that they've made the RAM proportional to internal memory ...
