i was looking at the non 4g model, but will go for this at a extra pound a month

4g and only 500mb data...really?

No good for me , says no 4G coverage in or near Cardiff.

zzzzz boring

Not everyone is like you, my mum for example uses around 200mb

you'd be surprised how much data most people use. download a data app to check it. if you've got WiFi most of it goes on that. I don't use 200mb per month . as per 4g you download a lot quicker so your not on has long.

Can also pick this up for £16 a month giving you 2gb a month on Tescos tariffs. Phone is £4.50 a month and tariff is £11.50, £4.50 a month works out at £108 so a lot cheaper than phone upfront. I'm currently paying £12 a month on GiffGaff, I used about 2.5gb a month but I am considering this deal because I'm no longer commuting 4 hours a day by public transport, which is when I gobbled all my data. I need a new phone so this could be ideal.

I'm very surprised this isn't really hot! Phone works out as £108.00 with no interest? I love Tesco as you can cap your contract too. I'm sure 500mb will be enough for me as I use WiFi at home and work, but if not, the contract will be capped so i'm not going to get rinsed! Can also upgrade to a new phone whenever i want...

yeah i think its a good deal.
only a quid dearer than the old version

Can u pay the £108 off and cancel contract like the O2 deals??

Is there any quidco/topcashback??

I'm not knocking the deal, but when they push 4G's capabilities to stream video 500MB is not great. Looking at the £16 per month contract appears to be a better deal. I think the OP should have posted the various options. I have not voted, but for the other plan at £16 it's hot from me.

Quidco available, appears to be worth 1 months payment.

How is the other deal at 2000 degrees and this one is 33 degrees - This works out cheaper??? Crazy!

guess it's the 8gb version?

All the new 4G versions are 8gb with a micro SD slot.

Most people aren't interested in contracts, me included.

so only 6 gb ish of apps/games space? OUCH... cant use micro sd to move apps/games too anymore with kitkat... guess the microsd is just for hoarding music/ videos...

seems silly getting this over the old 16gb really.

You can move things to the micro-SD card.
It's silly buying the 16GB one having a total of 12GB free, where as with this, buy a 64GB micro-SD card and have 60GB of storage.

Well I could. Some things can't be moved, like Antutu Benchmark, but Firefox for example has the option to move to the SD card.

I kinda agree it's silly not leaving as 16gb for ease, but 5gb of apps is loads for me as everything else is on the SD. I just find it bazaar the other deal is over 2000 degrees for same phone, even though this one is cheaper (£108 for phone) and the contract is really good as includes 4g and can upgrade phone at any time

interesting. kitkat apparently stopped moving games / apps to sd card, there is an app out there that if you root your device, restores the older (non kitkat) methods where you can use apps2sd etc.

It isn't rooted, just stock with some apps installed. Not everything can be moved, if the dev specified not to, but most can.

yes but that seems to me to be the same as pre-kitkat.

I do not own a kitkat device, and have only read the forums etc, but with this new moto g, users have yet to confirm if say, you download a big 1-2gb game, if you can move it to the sd card or not, as kitkat apparently stopped this

It does seem to be confirmed in other thread that you need to root first.

It's completely down to the dev. Even if you could move a certain game, you couldn't move all games.

no it seems kitkat stops the permission to write to the sd card... well, it is supposed to.

It's down to what you prefer. Want to play games and install large apps, and can live with just 3G, get the 3G model.

Don't care about gaming on a phone and want to store music/videos, and want 4G, get the 4G model.

Moto E with KitKat.

yes but are you sure that isnt moving it to an internal partition marked as an sdcard, like sdcard0, whereas the external will be sdcard1 ?

either that or the moto E doesnt have google certification?

I doubt it's the latter.

ive read many sites, all of which say the same regarding kitkat.. seems weird your moto E would allow "writing" to the sd card instead of just inside the apps sandbox.

Installing or Moving Applications to your SD cardSome applications are … Installing or Moving Applications to your SD cardSome applications are getting quite large. For your device, we have enabled the ability for a consumer to install and move applications from internal storage to his SD card. Applications moved to the SD card still appear in the apps tray, and runs. The “On SD card” tab, under Settings ->Apps displays the list of applications which can be moved to the card, as well as these already installed on the card. You can move each application back and forth through each “app info” settings view (“move to SD card”). Please wait until each move has completed before exiting the App info panel.Notes: Moving an application to the SD card only moves the application executable and resources, any data which the application needs (cache, data) might still reside on internal storage (unless the application specifically use the Android 4.4. API) Ultimately, it’s up to the application developer to decide whether an app can be moved to the SD card. Only applications which follow the Android install location guidelines can be moved, and there are certain class of apps which can’t be moved to the card. If your favorite app can’t be move to your SD card, please contact the application developer first

ok, so if an app is designed for 4.4 (kitkat) then it will not be able to be moved, if it will work on older then its possible that it could be moved, but all of the apps data (writable data) will remain on the device.

I think it means "cache, data might still exist on the internal memory, unless using 4.4 which will move it"
