I think a new moto g Titan is COMMING out in Argos priced £159 and also moto E for £109

this moto g is best value for money android phone there is. nothing fancy but does all the tasks I need from a phone very reliably

Is this the 1st gen moto g?
and am I righ in thinking that they have made the 2nd gen 3G?

This is the first and only (so far) 4g Moto g.

Yes the second gen Moto g is 3g only i.e. there is not a 4g version as before.

Don't bother with this unknown brand get an Amazon Fire Phone. Also it looks like a sofa.

Moto G is a brilliant phone for the money! Heat

Great phone, nothing fancy just very, very functional and reliable, everything work as it should.have it for good 5 months, still love it.

I bought this phone to replace my iPhone 4S. Everything except the camera was very good.

If you like taking pics with your phone I'd think twice about buying this one.

Shame as it was pretty good otherwise.

Amazon Fire phone is locked into Amazon's Fire OS and doesn't come with Google Play app store.

I've got the iPhone 5s and the moto G as a back up phone' the moto G has a 5MP camera as does the iphone4s - so in fairness both phones have the same picture quality' and having both I can verify the moto G's camera is very good

does this model have a micro SD card?

It has a micro sd card slot . ^

It's a cool phone. The camera is lacking though. It's nasty. Could be a little faster too. Other than that, great for the price

One of the few phones on 4.4.4 or higher that runs iplayer perfectly (from what i can see)

This is a **** phone, Had to factory reset it twice in 6 months. buy something else!

^ not bad but even resized to that res it's a little lacking.

for me, the 4g isnt worth bothering with, i'd rather buy the 2014 moto g which has a better camera.

p.s. I have an original moto g, it's a great phone. It does some minor things better than flagship phones.

sure, it lacks the details, the chromatic aberration is extensive and the indoor taken photos are usually average or even bad ...however, is it good enough to catch something quickly. No phone camera can match even entry level DSRL or quality compact and decent compact can be had for £90-100.

I would check about the unlocking working for the 4G - BEFORE - I parted with my cash. Got one of these last year and ended up paying Tesco Mobile to unlock as several of the ebay unlock services were unable to generate a working code.

Did get the phone working 4G on GiffGaff though. I do have to agree about the camera. With my iPhone 4S I got into the habbit of photographing things like signs etc instead of writing down data. The camera in this quickly disabused me of the practice for anything much smaller than a license plate at 20 feet.

You pays your money ...

Yes this can be unlocked as I have done mine as it was locked to Tesco Mobile.
Ebay item id 281549484961, this has now expired, however there should be others.

Since when was Motorola an unknown brand? The Moto G is still consistently one of the best reviewed budget smartphones on the market.

Anyway, heat from me. I personally went for the 2nd gen model (only £140 from Tesco Direct) to replace my current Moto G as it comes with various improvements and Virgin don't yet have 4G contracts. That said, this is a great price for a solid and reliable 4G phone.

I find the camera on this phone works well for this kind of useful photo. I use the Camera MX app which makes quite a difference to the quality.

LOL They have been making phones for as long as Nokia, Hardly an UNKNOWN BRAND.

Also Amazon tried to launch in the USA the AMAZON FIRE phones and it was a massive flop (Hence why they are trying to push them over here).

You did give me a laugh though so thank you :-)

Heated. I bought this phone a few weeks ago based on previous hotukdeal posting, and unlocked it with total ease via ebay - many sellers offering codes. There seems to be a general downer on its camera, but I am more than happy - it takes perfectly acceptable snaps that are well coloured with good contrast. Battery life seems very good too. Only downside is how long it's taking for Motorola to release Android 5 / Lollipop for this phone; a few weeks ago the word on the street was it was due in the next couple of weeks. A few weeks on and .. its due in the next couple of weeks !

My wife had the original 3g version and she thought it was excellent right up to the point that our 2 year old microwaved it!

I have found this phone to be a surprise. I broke my nexus and bought this as a back up until my contract expires. I rely on my phone extensively as I have to travel via the Motorway to work. I use the gps tool and an app called Waze. With occasional gaming, social media and surfing the web etc this phone lasts me from 8:00am to 9:00pm with still about 20% battery left.
The Android 4.4.4 works smoothly on the lower spec this phone is compared to the Samsung Galaxy S5s etc. The best thing about motorola is using pure android rather than adding their own UI suc has Samsung Touch Wiz UI or HTC Sense UI.
The camera is average but acceptable however I bought this for the phone / smart features and not a camera.
