Motorola Moto G 5" (8GB, Dual Sim, Black) in stock at Expansys £149.99 inc

I think this is the new Motorola Moto G handset that was launched today (?). Has the 5" display. Also, this appears to be the dual-sim model, so perhaps it's stock that wasn't originally destined for sale in the UK? Free standard delivery in 4 to 6 working days.

Update: This is the 2nd generation version of the Moto G, released for 2014. It has a larger screen (5"), front facing speakers, a better camera and a Micro SD slot (for expansion of the memory). It is 2G and 3G capable, but has no 4G/LTE capability.

Note: Expansys are also listing the flip shells/covers as being due in stock in 6 days (quite expensive though at £22.99)

Wouldn't it be easier to say the difference are one has dual-sim and one doesn't?

Yes it would.

Aren't amazon going to sell this for 145 tomorrow?

differences between this and the old moto g, slightly bigger screen, stereo front facing speakers and a better camera ate the main extras. however the new on isn't 4g and the bigger screen does mean the screen has a lower resolution per inch. unless you need the camera speakers and tiny bit more screen personally I'd stick with the 4g version

No - dual SIM version doesn't have "Digital TV (DS DTV 16GB model only)" (whatever that is!) :-)

Who knows. They should have been selling it from today, but that didn't happen.

But this isn't the 16GB version so it's completely irrelevant.

Most likely but I'd wait for Tesco.

Yes, but the point is, even if this was the 16 GB model, it still wouldn't have the feature. (Sorry, if I've misunderstood what you are trying to say... I just don't follow your logic that it is "completely irrelevant"?)

There's logic if you can buy the 16GB version. Can you?

Can't believe they didn't make it 4G. I was so excited to upgrade but that's a killer omission for me...

Why do people care about 4g so much? Nice to have, but surely 3g is plenty quick enough?

When edge/2g was out everyone wanted 3g cos everyone had 2g and the data took forever
Now everyone has got 3g, so when you're in town everyone has their head glued to their devices, trying to use 3g is crap
so now, everyone wants 4g so it's quicker and faster and all that stuff.
Trouble is, once everyone's got 4g, when you're in town everyone will have their heads glued to their devices, trying to use crap 4g
Then everyone will want 5g, so it's quicker and faster and all that stuff.
Trouble is........

Its not 4G? Ugh, I'm out!

Yup me too, why not integrate it maybe it's due to it being designed for foreign markets primarily but the really should have been a option from day 1.

2070 mAh battery? Are they taking the Michael

I an pretty sure they will release 4G version later early next year. Not sure who I'd dictating this strategy

i dont have a clue....so does this phone have GPS so ican use apps like STRAVA and can i put my giffgaff sim straight in it?
Thanks anyone

Looks good. I have the Dual Sim Moto G 1st Generation. This review here compares both .

If I didn't have mine I would buy this. But it's not worth upgrading. Also odd that they release only the 3G version.

It has GPS.

Are some folks silly ? This is the update/replacement for the MotoG - not the Moto 4G -is that too difficult ? Doubtless a replacement for the Moto 4G will be along soon so those who never leave central London will be happy . Meanwhile for 98% of the population who cant get 4G seems like a good update - for those on about memory it has a slot for a micro SD card . Those on about battery - My MotoG lasts easily a day - If the battery doesn't last long enough for you ,I suggest you get a life or buy a charger .

I'm seriously considering buying one, just to check before I jump, there is no other phone that comes close for the money?
No LTE is a little disappointing but I don't really 'need' it, 3G is good enough for IM and o2 priority moments.

Wait for Amazon to get their listing up, it was meant to be on there for £145 from today according to the official announcement, but obviously its late.

Better how? Worse screen, LG bloat, no LED light, strange rear buttons. Better in some ways yes.

They are taking the p**s by releasing a new version without 4G, just so they can later on release a updated version with 4G. I was going to buy the 4G version of the 1st gen but waited a month for the 2nd gen one, which i assumed would have 4G?, c'mon what a-holes, what top tier manufacturer releases a smartphone in 2014 without 4G now.

That is a listing by a third party seller. Amazon haven't put up their own listing yet.
