soon 5.0 lollipop comming

It's already on some of them, I know my wife's updated last week with it

Why the cold votes? You wont find it any cheaper. I got mine from Tesco at £139. Good phone for the price. Gorilla glass decent ram and memory. It is a brand you can trust if you are not brave enough to go for a Honour (huawei). Voted hot.

Good deal though. It will heat up...

I've added heat - I bought one of these about 4 weeks ago, paid £144. The phone upgraded to Lollipop last week. I'm dead chuffed with it, it replaced my Samsung Galaxy S2, and I think it represents excellent value, for the price it's a real brill deal.

I know geeks out there will complain it's not 4g - well some of us don't yet NEED 4g, indeed swathes of the country don't get 4g yet.

Amazon.co.uk price is 133.02. wouldn't it be better buying from them than ultrasonic audio

Correct! Some of us can barely get 3G! Never mind 4G!. 5G is around he corner anyway and phone networks are reluctant to invest in 4G knowing they will have to spend loads of money when 5G comes.
3G is good enough for people living outside Birmingham or London... As it is all we can get... LOL.

I have this phone bought on Amazon a few months ago. Had a few crashes since update but overall I'm very happy with the bang for buck on this phone. Good camera and Google now organises my life.

how many crashes and why?
is the camera any good?

Bought this phone in December and replaced it with the LG G3 as the moto G camera simply wasn't good enough.

The camera is great compared to the smaller Moto G.
I had a few issues with Lollipop, after the first install my battery was lasting a matter of hours. Factory reset and that seemed to cure it.

Some handy features with Lollipop, my favourite is location based unlock. For example I've set it so I don't have to enter my pin code to unlock the screen while at home. That doesn't sound very important but I probably entered my pin 100 times per day.

No 4G.

Complaining about no 4G, jeez in Northern Ireland a lot of places don't even have 3G!

When is the 5" 4G version due to launch in the UK?

My wife's had this phone since Christmas and she loved it.

The camera is great and the dual sim function is really useful when you live in the countryside with patchy reception - allows you to have two networks on the phone so a better chance of being able to make or receive a call.

Then she accepted the over-the-air update from KitKat to Lollipop and it's been nothing but problems since and there appears to be no way to go back to KitKat without rooting and custom ROMs.

The battery life now shows as around 6 hours once fully charged versus 2 days when it was on KitKat.

The white background on the launcher is horrible and can't be changed to black.

It crashes at least once a day and it now laggy when scrolling around plus loads of other niggles.

It's gone from being the best phone she's ever had to the worst and she rues the day she accepted the upgrade!

It is a big pain in the bum, but have you done a full factory reset since the upgrade? It may or may not fix it, but it has to be better than just hating your phone.

This or a Samsung mini S4?

I bought one a few weeks ago to tide me over until either Moto X price drop or a new Nexus comes out after dropping my N4 on the floor. Good budget smartphone IMO. Running lollipop with no problems, would recommend backing up your files and doing a factory reset for the people who are having problems coming from Kit Kat. The weakness is the camera if that kind of thing bothers you.

had mine 5 months brill phone but I also hate the new update

Agree, do a reset. The phone was laggy for me too after the update but no issues since I reset.

I upgraded my Nexus 4 to Lollipop now it's a crash-happy POS. Time to buy a new phone with KitKat on - can't be bothered with a custom ROM. Whatever Android version M or N is called I'm sure it will sort the problems out. Just like 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich was rubbish but Jellybean was OK and KitKat was better. 8GB storage too little for me though. Maybe a ZTE S6 instead.

Thanks op.

honestly, it's worth unlocking the bootloader on these (easier than it sounds, Motorola has a nice site for this) and rooting them. Then you can use lots more apps like Greenify (for battery life - still not amazing though on these phones), Xposed (fixes tons of annoyances), Firewalls and so on.

What's interesting, and i only discovered this when i rooted one recently for a relative, is that you can now root these WITHOUT flashing a custom recovery (you still need to unlock the BL). Basically, you upload the recovery and use it immediately to apply the root, no need to actually install the recovery. this means, you should be safe with the OTA updates later (official updates apparently don't care about unlocked BL or the root itself). But in general, i'd avoid doing updates on phones - even 4.4.2 > 4.4.4 caused some big problems on our phones (memory management :/)

But good advice above, if phone is acting that weird, back up anything important (Google Sync does most, Google+ for photos, you might want to save your texts with something like SMS Backup & Restore free app) and factory reset.

Please don't PM me about this, I don't respond to PMs, ask in the thread or better yet somewhere more specific like XDA etc.

Meh, I finally coaxed my mum into buying one a couple of weeks ago and she's loving it. Awesome little phone. No issues since updating to Lollipop that I can tell.

...not just Northern Ireland, 15 miles from Brum we are lucky to get a 2G signal on more than one network!

I'd read about all the lollipop problems and very nearly didnt update (plenty of blogs and forums say don't). I went ahead and it updated to 5.0.2. No obvious problems, possibly shorter battery life but I'm not a heavy enough user to have really noticed or suffered.

Great phone, surprised its not cheaper with newer models coming out as my unlocked model was 130 from Tesco before Xmas (and I used double value club card points).

soon 5.0 lollipop comming

Already out (5.02) , upgraded the Moto G 2014, haven't had any issues, seems as fast as kitkat, battery just as good.

Had far more issues with iOS8 than Lolipop, though a lot of iOS8 bugs are related to Google products - YouTube, Gmail,Google Ads, sabotage by Google? or just a complete lack of testing by Apple...

PM'd

I paid £150 for mine last month from Amazon and I think it's a fantastic phone. Sure it's no flagship phone but for the price it's great. Got Lollipop up and running on it.
