They buy their phones sim free like CPW and from past purchases they are sim free and unlocked

Just ordered from phones4u for my niece's Christmas present it was £159.99 with a £10 topup and free white back but that was on o2, with the Phones4u offer you have to hope that they are not locked which they could be and if things go wrong i would of much rather had it from Amazon. My sons Galaxy note went wrong after 13 months and because i requested RMA before the 12 months they had it back and gave him a full refund and this was only last month so he had a Note for 12 months used and abused it and when it started playing up was given a refund. Me personally i would of paid the Amazon price.

the 16gb version.

Honestly, there doesn't seem to be any at this price. This looks like the perfect budget Android phone - stock Android and 1 GB RAM. Storage might be a problem for some, but you do get 50 GB storage on Google Drive.

Kitkat is designed to enable devices with low ram to be more effective - so once that upgrade arrives in january shoud be even better.

Storage aside, this could replace most modern high end android devices purely because its based on stock android, as opposed to all the bloatware and poorly optimised software with the likes of samsung and htc.

Very tempted to buy it just as a backup phone. Heck, if the battery lasts a day with emails/web/social stuff, then it could very well be a main device for many.

Wont even have to wait till January, as the update will arrive within weeks apparently.

This deal will get deleted as it isn't in stock, my post of this phone for £129.99 from o2 was deleted as "spam" as it wasn't in stock. Hotukdeals has really gone downhill.

I'm in for a 16GB

Anyone know when stock is actually due in or shipped though?

God im tempted but i have to resist.

And i thought was such the clever d*** for getting the Lenovo A820 for a ton.

Wondered where your post had gone hajj_3. Need to upgrade from my Sony Mini Pro (it's dying). Any advice for around this price guys, otherwise this could be a winner

I was thinking of getting that Alcatel idol s from ee, but they have **** up availability completely, this has got to be better

£135 is the RRP. PC - Pro review states - "....When Scrolling and zooming around in complex webpages, it felt a little laggy, and this was backed up by the two quick benchmarks we were able to carry out on it. A SunSpider score of 1,442ms is well below average these days, and a score of 11fps in the demanding GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex HD test proves it’s a long way off when it comes to gaming ability, too..." And

"... For the money, it offers an awful lot of hardware — especially that lovely display and the waterproofing — the design is appealing, and software is mercifully clean."

Yet PS+ when new games come out is always allowed and it isn't really a deal. The sub may be but not when new games come out.

Phones4U say this is available in-store from Friday so it should be available from everywhere else around the same time.

Does anyone know the size of SIM it takes?

no sdcard? ah changed my mind was about to get this ..

Preordered the 16GB from Amazon. This looks like a decent alternative to the Nexus 4 and hopefully without the overheating problems. Not a gamer, so I don't really care about the SD card slot. 16GB will be plenty for the sort of apps I use.

Worth taking two things into account;
1. On screen buttons mean you'll realistically have about 4.3inch usable in apps.
2. No expandable memory. This shouldn't be a problem for the general user, but for heavy downloaders and gamers, this could be a deal breaker.

1. KitKat offers developers a full screen mode, not many apps take advantage of this yet but I'm sure that number will grow.

I have nexus 4 and use custom ROM (paranoid android) which gives permanent full screen

PIE can be annoying.

How does this compare to the Razr i from Three at £149.99?

Flubit - £127!! Cheaper than P4U and likely to come from Amazon anyway!

Is this 4g

No. It's not 4G and won't have 4k video recording like the Snapdragon 800 SOC. it could be worth waiting for the 800 to drop n price if these two things are important to you as they would be to me. ZTE could release a cheaper 800 soon and since I would use it for a number of years, I may wait.

Not worth the wait, imho. Just ordered something small the other day from Amazon and did so via Flubit just to try them out. I have Amazon Prime and would have had my order right now. For the sake of a pound or so I saved Flubit has only just got to preparing for dispatch and is shipping via second class mail - another 5-7 days of waiting.

By the your phone arrives, some other better deal might be available from a walk in store. I would want more than £8 saving for not being able to deal with Amazon if I get a dud, as well.

I also can't seem to find this out. Need to know before I ring virgin to 'negotiate' a discount on my SIMO deal.

Tejstar

TechRadar says it is micro SIM.

You can get adaptors for sims. Standard sim can be cut down to a micro sim. I've done myself with a sim cutter off EBay. You can get an adaptor to make it big again.... Ooer

The lack of 4G is an issue, in a year or so when it's more widely available and the pricing calms down you might regret this. But 4K video recording? Seriously, you'd hold-off for that reason? Why even bother mentioning that.
