Just seen poster hidden in shop for Black Friday deals. Motorola G5 for 89.99 and Motorola C for 39.99. Pay&Go deal.

Motorola G5 £89.99
Motorola C £39.99

As it has been asked several times, I thought I'd add the following info.

To get this price select a Pay as you go tariff when you order online, such as the £10 classic pay as you go, the sim is free at checkout and has no credit on it, so you are not charged for a top up.

Unlock codes can be purchased on ebay for as little as £1.50. Power it up with a sim from another network inserted to enter the unlock code. Note Tesco and other O2 based virtual providers will work without unlocking.

Also note the G5 takes a nano sim, so if you're existing sim won't fit, you might want to order a replacement from your provider while you wait for delivery.

At an educated guess, O2.

Yes, but O2 will unluck it for a FEE after 12 months if you ask them.

Alternatively unlocking codes available on ebay for a few pounds

I'm assuming the reduction will happen Friday or am I missing something?

Is this in store only?

This is going to get very very hot.

I actually saw the same poster ealier in Grantham store today, and assumed it would be posted here already. Missed out on some heat there. Just did a search to.double check whether it had been posted.

I asked the guy at the desk and he said it wasn't available yet, but will be Friday.

Anyhow, looks a great deal indeed.

Poster has £149 'crossed out' and £89 in big numbers underneath.

Moto G5 for £89.99 what an absolute bargain!!

I've got a G4 Play as a spare/emergency phone which could do with upgrading...

Excellent price.
Unfortunately it's not really a step above my HTC One M8 so probably not worth it for me.

It's worth mentioning that this is actually like the 2nd best handset with removable battery.

You can see it on poster its o2

Perhaps a silly question, will this be locked to O2?

Do you have to buy topup?

Hmmm I would have said a bargain but 4 Moto (different phone) faults on, I'm moving on from Leno...cough Motorola. If they sort out their quality control and updates and bring back what we loved about the early Moto phones then it would be good, but now? Nope.

Sure it will be definitely locked ? I thought Moto phones were unlocked (I dunno though).
I remember O2 telling folk that the Oneplua phones were locked to O2, etc when they weren't.

As others have said, you can unlock on ebay for under £2 if needed - just check seller feedback before buying. Try SIM first - I managed to buy an unlock code for a phone recently before I checked it and it wasn't needed

Hmm, this or the P10 Lite, that seems to be the question.. But if the P10 Lite isn't at this price it's a zero brainer..

Yes you can also send a message to the ebay seller before buying to see if they can unlock your phone. That saves a couple a couple of quid...

Does this include NFC? It's regional and not sure if the O2 UK one will have it

Is this the same size as the g4 play

It's an amazing price, but I still think the Like New 3gb version from amazon for £110 is the stronger deal.

Can't decide whether this is worth upgrading to from the g4.

GHOST TOUCH 👻 MWHAHAHA GOOGLE IT ON MOTOROLA PHONES

Doubt it. Think that is exclusive to Amazon

Will tesco or giffgaff sim work in this?

GHOST TOUCH 👻 MWHAHAHA GOOGLE IT ON MOTOROLA PHONES

that was g4 right?

my problem with this is no compass

Decent price tbh.
I had a Moto G4 that had the ghost touch issue, it was replaced and I later gave it away to my nephew who says it's still working with no problems.
Quality has taken a hit since Lenovo took over but still decent phones for the money, I still have a Moto Z which has been faultless and would still consider another Moto when i decide to change.

The g5 with 3gb ram is £150 on amazon

Is this significantly better (ie worth the upgrade) over a ZTE Blade A512?

Was going to get the huawei y6 for the mum but this might be better?

yes, SIM from Tesco Mobile, GiffGaff and other virtual providers who use O2 network infrastructure will work with o2 locked phones.

No. It doesn't have NFC. A second hand LG G3 would be a better buy. It has NFC and build quality is far superior.
