Good deal but "Huge 3,000 mAh battery "

I own last year's moto G5 plus (13 months constant use) and have used the fast charging all the time. Still get 20 hours heavy use (playing games, watching stuff, browsing...) And up to 2 days lighter use... Battery has not degraded an iota since the first day.

The only issue we all have as Moto owners is the very slow release of updates. We eagerly await Oreo (even better battery management) since the autumn... That is the big issue with this phone maker.

All moto G's have been hits, best medium range, with great cameras at an affordable rate you can get without buying from China. Pretty much android stock and a few Moto tweaks which are absolutely amazing to use...

There is a Ulefone mobile with over 10,000mah battery I think but would weigh a ton!

Thats a huge battery

3000mah is standard nowadays & with high res screens etc wont last that long

5,000 is about right for this size phone. 10,000 is huge!

Anyone know if second sim slot support 3G voice?

I want 1st sim to support vodafone 4G data and 2nd slot support Three for phone call.

G4 works OK, but G5 not support.
3000mAh isn't big, but not a problem unless you need more than a day's worth of battery.
Surely the bigger the battery the heavier/bulkier the phone?

3000mah is probably fine for a slow and efficient SD450 SoC...

I'm with you Nasir. Way to expensive for the bottom end SoC. Would have expected a 600 series for the price.

The display will drain the battery.
Cpu and battery make this a simple 👎 from me.
Needs to be closer to £170

This price point for that professor is cold from me
Snapdragon 450 seems awfully low for a brand new phone and the successor to the moto G5?

Can get a Moto G5s Plus with Snapdragon 625 for less than this or am I missing something?

The G5S Plus that I mentioned (that you seemed to ignore) is the one to compare it to now. Cheaper with a faster processor.

This isn't the plus version. Why would you compare it to that? Unless they've not planned multiple revisions?

Because it's the closes of the old G5 series in terms of size and spec etc. why wouldn't you compare it?

This G6 has a bigger screen than the G5S Plus, madness right?

It's not all that complicated.
For an extra £20 over the usual moto g6 RRP you get another 32GB storage and an extra 1GB of RAM, oh and this one is dual sim for those that don't want to carry a work phone and a personal phone around with them. This is an amazon only exclusive deal though.

I appreciate a bit of advice please. What about Moto Z2 play for £297 instead of this? Thank you
I've had it with Moto phones. I've had 2 G4s and own a G5 and whilst they are good, all of them suffer from screen burn in and very mediocre battery life with moderate use.

Every year the new Moto tempts me, but their prices are too high and I'm not happy with the screen and battery issues, so I've moved to Xiaomi. I don't like the miui interface, but they offer the best alternative in the budget/midrange price sector.
From reading the reviews, this phone has a fancy dual lens camera on the rear? I'm not sure how much difference it makes to photo quality over the G5?
People seem quick to slate Motorola & the Moto G series

Personally stock android and fairly low price makes them pretty good for most people

Can the techy bunch point me in the right direction for a decent phone for around £200 with stock android etc

Not new, perhaps Used good condition. If there was one for £200 I would also like to know.
Looking forward to the G6, the G6+, the G6S, the G6S+, the G6 Play and the G6 play+ and the G6 Play+S

Not to mention the C, E, M, X and Z range this year.

I don't find the vast, near identical ranges complicated or utterly stupid at all, I much prefer them to offer a vast range of poorly supported devices instead of 4 models with good support.

Best wait for some user reviews in the UK, I have the G4+ and the dual 3G capable SIM really is a winning combination then they removed it on the G5 but apparently could (or have) enabled it on the G5 Australian model. The G5S is dual 3G I think.

Handset prices are higher this year

What would you get for £200?

Moto G6 Play will have 3gb ram and Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 at £169 - Seems like a fair price with a 4000mah battery
Have absolutely no clue why anyone would go for a Moto G6 over the Nokia 6 2018 model.

For £10 less at CPW at £229 with a free Google Home Mini the Nokia 6 2018 crushes the Moto G6. To summarise Snapdragon 630 vs Snapdragon 450 and the Nokia being an Android One device kills Moto's G line stone dead. You can read more on the differences here

Haven't voted on this deal but Moto need to up their game or Nokia's going to take them out

Edit: To be fairer to Moto this does have 1 GB RAM extra and 32 GB more storage - Depending on how you use your phone this could be a deal-breaker but unlikely to be. That extra GB of RAM is handy but you can stuff a 32 GB SD card into the Nokia for less than £10

Just the old Nokia, (then Samsung,) way of doing things. If you bring out 10 near identical phones, that's 10 spaces taken up on the CPW wall of phones right?

Totally agree Honey. Nokia are what Moto used to be 3 years ago. You can still buy Moto and get a near stock experience but unlike 3 years ago, updates are now hard to come by.
Snapdragon 450 and 625 I think are very similar:

versus.com/en/…625

Both have 8x Cortex-A53 cores, at similar frequencies
Are humans hands getting bigger? I don't know why phones are... please I wish for a moto g sized phone.
All the reviews that I read say the Moto g6 is due to be released on 2nd May but the Amazon page on the OP link says 9th May.

Which is right?
