I've got both the G8 Plus and received the G8 Power this morning (both from the previous Lenovo Store deals).

Obviously battery life will be better on the G8 Power, but I prefer the G8 Plus in every other way.

The screen on the plus can get a bit brighter. The Wide-Angle action cam is more useful to me as it's got great stabilisation and quality, whereas the non-main camera lenses on the Power don't offer great quality.

I thought I would prefer the punch hole camera on the screen of the Power compared to the small notch on the Plus, but the notch works better with Android. In order not to break any apps on the Power, Moto have extended the system tray bar at the top of the handset to double-height, which actually means that you get less on screen space for most apps compared to the plus.

Both handsets have stereo speakers, but the sound is richer on the Plus, it sounds a bit harsh on the Power as the earpiece speaker is a bit tinny.

The 4000mah battery on the Plus easily lasts a day of heavy use, and I plug my phone in every night anyway, so the extra 1000mah on the Power is unlikely to benefit me.

I know it's missing Android 10 at the moment, but the Plus is worth the extra £10 over the Power IMO, unless extra-long battery life is crucial to you.

These are amazing for the price, camera is not as good as the £600 plus phones but hey.
These do a couple of things I find really useful and don't know why other manufactures don't ( to my knowledge ). To get the camera you just shake it, shake again to swap to selfie camera, to get the torch just do a chopping motion, so simple one handed motion. Battery is amazing, I use google maps a lot and previous phone would die half way through the day using maps so much but 2 days easy with this phone, plus usual call etc. during the day. As a work phone in an engineering environment they are great, knowing if I drop it or sit on it etc., it ain't going to break the bank to replace it. Heat added thanks.

My title is fine mate - the HUKD app will always show it as 'Lenovo UK' regardless.

Thanks for your comments bud.

That's right yes - i believe 90% of HUKD users must be 'students' by now.

Good to see these Moto phones around £150 price point now. It's where they should be and great bang for buck!
From what I can gather this is the G8 to get. So heat from me great price for a budget phone that punches well with the mid rangers sub 300.

Is 90% of this community students? Can't find a deal for this G8 Plus for anything but students.
Ordered the G8 Power, you don't have to be a student "Also if you're aged 16-26, you can access to the education store" Cheers
Code doesn't work - just tested.

You must be applying the code on the normal Lenovo site and not on the Education Store. I have just tested and it works fine.

Thanks.

This G8 power I've stuck in premium due to its high RRP.... Better value at 159.

It does work on reward sites / educational sites as op says. I bought a g8 plus yesterday for 169.99

How do you get into the rewards site though?
Does it have NFC? Not according to spec on Lenovo site but have heard otherwise (from the right honourable @MrSwitch no less)

I may have gotten that wrong, it may be region dependant from what I've now read.

NFC lovers, look elsewhere.

I stand corrected sorry I was looking at the plain G8 😬 I was looking at the Redmi Note 8 Pro over something like this 👀
